Two High School Seniors Shot to Death in Cemetery

so it sounds like they must know one of them shot the gun and not an outsider that left them there?? why do i have the feeling this is over unaccepted gay-love?? seriously not trying to be mean or grossly sarcastic..

Another article is reporting it as a possible murder-suicide or double-suicide.

Not to be mean, but I thought this too... Did you happen to see the movie "Heathers" with Winona Ryder and Christian Slater???

Where there 2 guns found? It says a pistol. couldn't only be a double suicide if there are 2 guns?

Just curious how you know they were both male, it didn't state it in the article. My name is Jamie and I'm female. Honestly just curious...

Hope they find out what happened so the family can have some kind of closure. Very sad...

There wouldn't have to be two guns...one person could kill themselves and then the other person could use the same gun afer.

The bottom line, keep your kids close and know them!

Very sad, whatever the situation was there was no hope for the kids.

I hope the extended families are strong.

The article had their photos. They both looked male to me...

The article suggests they are both male by saying they were both football players who one the state championships.
My first instinct, along with a couple others, was that they could have been gay and completely terrified of that. What ever the reason...tragic.

We know they are both male because in the article it says Serich's parents reported HIM missing.

To Jamie:
"Hart apparently had shot himself but it wasn't clear if Hart had shot the other victim or if Serich had shot himself."
The article refers to both Hart and Serich using the word himself, which I believe means male, as in they both were male.

Oh dear. I just reread the article. They are definitely both male because both names on fox news say "shot HIMself" when referring to both victims. Also, they were not necessarily football players. They just happen to attend the school where they had won the state championships. Of course, they do this on purpose to attract more readers. "Oh My. Championship Football Players Suicide"--so sad.

Both students were male,perhaps the shooting was a result of relationship.

The identities of the two Cardinal Mooney High School students found shot and killed inside a Boardman cemetery over the weekend have been released.

Police say the victims are Jamie Serich, 17, and Colin Hart, 18. Both teens were seniors at Mooney.

Boardman Police say they did recover the pistol used in the shootings. The weapon was discovered near the victims' bodies.

Police Lt. Don Hawkins said both Serich and Hart suffered a single gunshot wound to the temple. Hawkins said it appears that Hart shot himself, however, it is not clear if Hart also shot Serich, or if Serich shot himself.

The bodies of the young men were found Sunday morning inside Forest Lawn Cemetery on Market street in Boardman.

A prayer service is set for the teens this (Monday) afternoon at Cardinal Mooney High School and grief counselors will be made available to students when classes resume Tuesday.

The tragedy has prompted Cardinal Mooney to cancel tonight's (Monday's) girls basketball game against Salem. There is no word on when that game will be rescheduled.

neither boy played football. One baseball, one ran track. Both had good futures, academic and athletic. Rumors of drug use.

they are not on the football teams roster so they obviously did not play. what does football have to do with this anyways? if they did play football i'm sure they would have been on a high, not depressed..

MJCANE- I think that it is absolutly disgusting that you would choose to mock there deaths. What is wrong with you? Could you be any more insensitve to the situation? As to speculation as to the boys sexual orientation sadly it is a motivating factor in several suicides with todays youth. Its just sad because you wish that they had gone about getting counsiling to help them make healther decisions and make them realise that taking your life isnt the answer. Anyway I hope that these boys families can one day find peace. I've lost my best friend to a suicide and its one of the most dificult things I have ever dealt with. I do hope that they are able to get to the bottom of this and provide the families with some form of closure.

This is so tragic, esp. for the parent's. I hope the truth is discovered and will help bring closure instead of more pain.
