The A.P. will always be able to defend its decision making in its own mind. These scumbags care about one thing, making money. If you want morals try your local church.

Go figure, the AP still following that old saying "If it bleeds it leads" regardless of anyone else's feelings. Absolutely disgusting!

Grow up people. This is the war you wanted. Sorry you can not surround it with flowers and roses.

War may be a sick and undesirable thing, but what if that was your father or brother? Do you want to know on film that they suffered and died in pain? I am a former soldier and to die is not honorable, but I would not want my parents or loved ones at home to know that I suffered.

BS! We do not want our fallen children to be displayed so someone can sell more papers. That Marine gave his life. His parents lost a child. Now his service has been grandstanded by inglorious greed. McCall, no one wants to lose a child. Shame on your comment! Sad and insensitive. Not necessary.

To publish this after the father asks not to several times shows a complete lack of respect, PERIOD. It is pure sensationalism, done for "ratings" under some diluted thought process claiming something way off base, "a respectful treatment and recognition of sacrifice".

The AP was wrong in publishing the picture of the young Marine dying. What's next? Showing was of killing others?

We know what goes on in war, we don't need to see the worst parts of it. Have some feelings for the family!!

This is truely sad. But i don't think these type of pictures shuold be kept from the American public. We need to see the cost and Horrors of war. In order to be less eager to fight them in the future and stop the slaughter of humanity. It slaps us in the face and bring the cost of war home to everyone.

My thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends of this young man. The AP should be ashamed of themselves for leaving this picture up. I bet if that young man was the son of one of the AP big wigs, it wouldn't be up.

The media should have shown more compassion toward the family. The excuse that it is a part of history may be true but it is a lame excuse. How could it be respectful if it goes against the wishes of the family.

Why should we be exempt from these graphic horrors that we are inflicting on the Iraqis, Afghans and Pakistanis? WE invaded their countries.

Militaries kill people and break things. That is what they are trained to do. That is what guns and tanks and planes armed with bombs do. If we have such difficulty facing the fate to which we condemn our own young men and women in the armed forces, maybe we need to use our military more sparingly and justifiably.

Why would you wish to cause more suffering for this man's family
Do you feel it's a thrill for people to look at this stuff. I just cannot figure out why you would want to inflict this on the family and on your readers. Your lack of compassion is disgusting

I want to know how josh would feel about this. I understand his family doesn't want this shown. I really understand their pain about the untimely passing of their son. He was obviously a patriot and was willing to give his life for those beliefs. He swore the same oath that myself and all other servicemen and women have sworn. The ideal of free speech, which includes shocking images to report the brutality of the reality in which we are living, is one of our countries most vital. Don't blame AP for showing this but write your local/federal representatives to demand reasons why we wasted a heroes life on an unconstitutional war.
