Rights examined in Christmas case

I laugh when "rights" are brought up in any case. What rights? Those of the defendant? Those of the victims? It's a moot point to argue that Miranda rights were read or not, the police will ALWAYS say they were, true or not, and the court will ALWAYS believe them. Has anyone ever heard of the police TAPING the reading of Miranda Rights? Of course not. It could be used AGAINST them. Think about it, if it is such an issue, why are they never taped?

This particular case, with its severity, should be all about the evidence, the loss of a life, the children involved, and the alleged abuse. I really don't care whether or not the accused was "talked" to before being read his "rights", and neither should the court. There is way, WAY too much b u l l s h i t in court. This particular tactic of the defense is knee-deep.

A good share of police officers have not been to law school! All lawyers and judges have! There is the problem! Thats just one of the reasons the guilty go free!

Good point. I guess the question would be why are officers often held to every minute detail of the law?

A good example is the O J case, where the defense put the LAPD on trial. What a sham. Ito was a joke, more worried about camera angles than the evidence he let in/excluded.

And the prosecution! Marcia Clark and her hairstyles. Darden and his obvious lack of any skill. Were any of them at all concerned with the case? I remember the jurist interviews after the verdict and how I was amazed that they got through the prosecutions' screening. A couple of them should have been excluded in the first round of screening! Dumber than stumps, and OBVIOUSLY biased with regards to race.

What about the rights of the victim? Ron was killed in front of witnesses, one of them HIS SON! Case closed.

Police might be the fall guy here! Thats what you get for doing your job!
