Next thing to watch out for is the Town Board try to squeeze in a revision to the town code to let the IP landfill be used for anything. Mark my words... IP could sell the property for deveopment and continue the INTERNATIONAL PAPER OBLIGATION to continue to perform the DEC required INTERNATIONAL PAPER OBLIGATION maintenance of the now closed landfill. Remember the landfill was solely wanted by IP, was allowed to be put in solely for IP, solely for the IP paper mill, which IP then solely closed and walked away. May attention to the "landfill" at the town board meetings. The topic will "come up". Residents can make a difference.... if they care.

I do agree, the property owners should fill it in and just plant some grass at a minimum until re-developed. Right now they don't do anything to make it look appealing to potential
developers let alone the community as a whole. Mollies Mason Jar is much better off now, what a great place she now has. If she still owns the Main St property, if still no buyers, if I were her, I'd put up a big billboard "Mollies Mason Jar - that way! with a big arrow pointing to her new place. She is NOT the problem with the "fire zone". The insurance companies, the FAKE asbestos scare, and taxpayer grant involment should be prosecuted.(Note: if the Village published all the asbestos sample results, I may consider retracting the "FAKE asbestos scare" comment.)

I'm sure the village doesn't have a lot of money to do this but take down the fence, level off the properties for a starter and take down that billboard sign Mollie has on her property. I'm sure by now everybody knows where she is. Let's not go thru another summer with tourist traffic thru Corinth looking like it did last year. Let's spruce this village up. We don't have to look like no one here cares.

I still say Mollie's billboard doesn't add to the beauty of Main St. Supposing the owners of the other 2 properties put Billboards up on their properties and they would have the right to, wouldn't that help the looks of Main. St. No, I think Mollies followers know where she is located by now and she should do the right thing for Corinth and take her billboard down. Many Corinthians frequented her restaurant while in Corinth & since she moved frequent her restaurant.
SO TAKE THE BILLBOARD DOWN.

Ally before you judge the reidents of Corinth, perhaps you should learn how to spell.

I am aware of this issue unfortunetly Corinth is not filled with internet, friendly residents as they would rather hang out in front Stewarts and remain unemployed.

Has anyone heard if anything is going on at the IP property? We sure could use some industry in this town to create some jobs. From what I've read Sen. Murphy who won over Jim Tidesco was a person who created businesses that created jobs. Perhas he could use his expertise to help create some industry that would create jobs in Corinth.

They never existed, only on paper, shell company.
They took millions of dollars of scrape metal
made millions then disappeared. Even took the trash cans.

Then they let the property fall back to IP.
It will not be long be fore IP wants rid of this tax liabiility. Buildings will come down.

How do you sell a paper mill with no machines or
infastructer?

Is there any activity on the IP property? Is there still a security force still there and if so what for? Isn't everything of value gone?

Are any of the three businesses that burned on Main Street going to rebuild? I know Mollie owns her property but isn't there any sign ordinance in the village as to how long a sign can be left up. I'm sure anybody who wants to know where she moved to knows by now. So take the billboad down.

At the Dec. 2 vllage board meeting the board agreed the sign on Mollies property should be removed. It's about time(we'll see how long it takes) A pretty Xmas tree would have looked nice in the middle of those empty lots. Guess Mr. Dumont will ever get to build his building. Perhaps the village wants the grant money he received returned rather than letting him rebuild. Just a thought.
