The Eighth Annual New York City CROP Hunger Walk will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 2 PM (Church of the Heavenly Rest) at Fifth Avenue and 90th Street in Manhattan. The first annual World Science Festival ( www.worldsciencefestival.com ) will bring together a dozen Nobel Laureates, along with researchers, artists and writers to create a four-day city-wide celebration of science with more than 40 unique events showcasing an extraordinary array of performances, lectures, family events and films that will shine a spotlight on science and explore the many ways in which scientific discovery and innovation are shaping modern life. The World Science Festival springs from the vision of its co-founders, physicist and host of NOVA’s The Elegant Universe Brian Greene and four-time National News Emmy Award winning journalist and producer Tracy Day. The Festival will take place from May 29 - June 1, 2008 at 22 venues throughout New York City.

LIVESTRONG in NYC Cancer Awareness Benefit is one of 600 events nationwide to support cancer survivors on LIVESTRONG Day, Tuesday, May 13th from 7 to 10 PM at the Lolita Bar on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Join us for hors d'oeurves from Union Square Cafe, music and an open mike. All are encouraged to participate in the open mike, focusing on the issues related to cancer.
