Animal lawyers share passion to protect helpless -

For a young, overworked lawyer practicing in a big Manhattan firm, it was a "transformative experience." Eighteen years ago, James Gesualdi took a week off from his job to swim with pediatric cancer patients ...

Never mind about poor Ian. He's incapable of thinking someone can care for two things at once. Unfortunately for humanity, all he cares about are fetuses.

well, you seem to have your "ONE" cause and that seems to be all you can think about...

and i'm sure that these lawyers will do more for their causes than you'll ever do...

It is certainly good news for animal advocates that people
are coming to the realization that animals must be pro-
tected whether they are pets or animals in circuses........
no animal should be without protection of the law.....
there should, however, be stricter sentences for those
who mistreat animals.....animals feel the same love, fear
and pain as humans.....and should be treated with the
same respect....

I wish lawyers representing children had that much passion.

Dear "tired of morons"

If you do not have compassion for
animals.....you cannot have com-
passion for children.....animals
depend entirely on their caretakers
for shelter..food..warmth..love and
care in illness...just as children
depend on their parents and guardians...it is a step forward when
there are lawyers who arae in tune with the needs of animals and their care-takers.....if a lawyer is willing totake on an animal rights issue.....just imagine what that lawyer can do for the issues of children.....a lawyer with passion
for an animal certainly has the
passion and wisdom necessary to help
a child.....they are helping those
who cannot properly defend themselves.

Animals are such a huge part of our lives, in so many ways, it is only right that they should be treated decently and have their rights repected. This positive change in our attitude towards other sentient beings is happening in many places around the world this is well expressed in the words of Gandhi,
"The greatness of a nation and itīs moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated".

As a person who loves animals it is very insulting to read comments that belittle my compassion for animals and accuse me of not caring about children simply because I care about society's treatment of animals.

Just because I love animals and care about their well-being, and fight for them because they cannot speak for themselves does not mean I do not care about the treatment of innocent children.

Loving animals and showing compassion towards them does not take away from my feelings of compassion for children. It does not take away from me wanting to protect children and fight for them as well.

Any one who assumes that is totally ignorant. And comments insinuating that are condescending and just plain stupid.

Good work you guys. Keep it up. It is absolutely heartwrenching to hear stories of cruelty to animals, and the fact that there really is very little any one individual can do about it. Thank God for people like you!

Alwayes amazes me that MEN are so antiabortion. If men had babies, abortion would be the first amendment.

Excellent thoughts. Compassion is compassion whatever its directed at. Personally, I don't trust people who don't like animals. Animals are true innocents, just like children.

James Gesualdi and Laurette Richin should be put into a padded cell along with the animal rights psycos writing to this post. How anyone could advocate letting a dog that mauled a 4 year human child be allowed to do this again is amazing. If it was my child I would not need any court order or lawyer to take care of this deranged beast and the people who advocate for them need psyciatric help. Gods creation is a specially deranged self hating fool. No one is talking about nice pets and animals not a danger to society but these oversized carnavours living in our neighborhoods need to be either put in the wilderness of killed period.

Bill, I am sure you do not know the
facts of this case.....let's face the
fact that most times when children
are harmed by a dog or any other animal their parents are usually to
blame since they do not keep a watch-
ful eye over their children and do not teach them to not tease but to
respect animals.
Normally, if animals are vicious it is the fault of owners
who get pets for the wrong reasons
and ignore them, beat them and teach
them to be "watch dogs"
I am an animal rights advocate and
activist....people should be more
aware of the treatment animals receive from their owners and care-
takers.....I have taken in many abused birds and animals with not
only broken bodies but broken spirits
......it takes much work in order to
bring them back to be the sweet gentle souls that they are.
I truly believe before people are
allowed to take a pet into their
home they should have at least one
class of animal care and treatment.
And zoos, circuses and aquariums
should have responsible persons
working for them who will not mis-
treat these animals.
Your remarks are uncalled for and
you certainly do not sound like a
well-informed individual.

Ian,

If you have any animals.....please
give them to the closest animal shelter because you are a very sick
sick man who is in need of psychiatric help.....did you ever know that any person capable of killing an animal is capable of killing a human.....and most children
who commit murders have been known
to have killed animals when they were
young.

Ian, you should seek help right now
before you maim or kill an innocent
animal.

Once again, if you have any pets.....
GIVE THEM TO AN ANIMAL SHELTER.......
you appear to have an abusive personality and your theories on
life are very twisted.

We are not talking abortion here ..... we are talking about
animals that are abused and mistreated......Abortion is a different issue with people having
very personal views.

GET HELP BEFORE YOU DO SOMETHING
TERRIBLE.
