You are correct he does wrestling shows. He has NO experience and now we go backwards with people that are less qualified.

They had some good people their before like Rick Millie and Bob Sandsone before him.

I thought Carlo said we didn't need a Rec Center Director and that he had perfectly qualified people to run it from the Parks Department and this would be a cost savings to the city? That's how he justified Rick Millie's firing.

No more cost savings to the taxpayers?

Did everyone just forget about the taxpayers? Could it be, because Carlo promises every Tom, Dick and Harry he meets on the streets favors????

The show he was on was called "Fat March".

I laugh when people say we need someone with a backround in child education for the Rec, then complain that we have to pay them. People with degrees cost more money folks! Also, the Rec is not the Boys and Girls Club, its a flipping basketball court!! Unless theyve changed what they do there recently, you could train a gorilla to run the place. All thats really needed is someone to set up the sports leagues that play there and someone to watch over the kids. In my opinion, if you have ANY degree you are WAY overqualified for this job. The last two guys that ran the place, Mike and Bob, did just fine to me.

Based on the job posting, it looks like the rec director will have a lot of responsibilities. I think they should hire someone with the background that they are asking for and he/she should be paid comensurate with experience. It's not a volunteer job and it seems that there is a lot that goes along with it, so they should be paid well, just like any other position with these requirements. I hate to seem them picking someone off the street that has no idea how to do any of the tasks required in this job.

YES - College Degree or the equivalent experience should be a requirement. I know this kid, and he does not have ANY experience.

This is NOT right and is just ANOTHER favor.

It's in the 60's. NO college degree per description, and nothing to back up the job descriptions qualifications needed.

How can this be justified and prior Rec Center Directors had to be approved by the Board of Alderman. This should go through the Board of Alderman this is our kids. The mayor himself sends his own kids to private school. Are ours just not good enough to have the best qualified person?
