Full story: www.bdtonline.com

Ah shucks. If we can't control an unlawful and dangerous activity, let's just legalize it, tax it and make some money off it.

That bill would've provided money for the vol. fire depts. to have a pension plan. With 20 years of documented active service in the fire service the vol. firefighters would've had a pension once they reach the age of 60. The state knows that thousands of people go out of state to buy the good fireworks. They just wanted a way to give somthing back to the volunteers. There are over 400 vol. fire depts. in the state/ Thats a heck of lot more than paid. These depts. run on an average budget of less than $50.000 dollars a year. There is a problem with recruitment and retension in the vol. fire service. These small departments are a business with an average worth of over 2 million dollars. The state fire marshalls office was behind the bill 100%. Every time they try to give something back to the vol. depts. it is killed in the senate. So much for support for those who give to help the areas they live in. There have been allot of other bills shot down like giving a vol. firefighter a free night in the state park after 5 years of service. The vol. need to unite and be a voice that is heard in the Capital.

I,m tired of laws being enacted to protect everybody from everything. People get hurt and people get killed everyday. 99% of everybody in WV is capable of purchasing and using fire works without getting hurt. Why should I have to drive to TN every year to buy and boost their economy because a few politicians think they know whats good for me. Trust me the people who are to stupid to let off fireworks will get hurt or killed doing some other "hey ya'll watch this" stunt. It's natural selection.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Aries

Your emotions have the upper hand, making you rather fiery and fervent. That's great if you're hoping for a passionate encounter with you-know-who, because you'll be really hot stuff. However, in non-sexual situations you could become somewhat tempestuous and irritable, especially if you suspect that things aren't going the way you want.
