Who will run for mayor and commissioners?

good for you, Mrs. Dearmin, and shame on those who would seek to distort what anyone does in the name of volunteerism and being a good citizen.

I hate that vendictiveness and hate come out so often on this board and in this community. I am sure that some of those running for election this fall will be running on uninformed platforms of vendettas and hate and jealousy, but I intend to support those who have worked to improve this town, and those who will continue to move it forward.

I think that Homer does a great job and hope that he stays. He finally did what no other had the balls to do and thats get rid of Barry Conaway. That alone should be enough for a pat on the back. Homer you keep up the good work and we hope you stay in our town for a long time. I think that the people of WC should open their eyes and see the good that your trying to do and stop reading and listening to all the BS that Ms.Mouth Conaway is starting. If the people really and truly knew the real Barry and Sharon Conaway they would ask them to move out of town. Homer you keep up the good job and hang in there.

Stokes county is a Joke and all of its political employees. You have to be a gagster to be one of them. Mike joyce for number one.............

I hope this doesn't turn into another big mess, but with some of the candidates running for all the wrong reasons (read: revenge), I imagine it will.

"Not Fooled" is indeed Fulton Tuttle. When it was pointed out earlier, I suspected it, but I have confirmed it for sure.

CITIZENS OF WALNUT COVE WAKE-UP NOW!
It is time for the good hard working citizens of Walnut Cove to put a stop to people who do not live in our town from influencing issues that affect the people and property values of Walnut Cove. For much too long, absentee landlords have had much too much influence regarding zoning and code enforcement policy in our town. Recently our elected officials working with town management have made headway toward addressing the issue of derelict properties around our town. With the recent elections behind us, this is no time to lose steam in our battle to cleanup the town. I am urging all fellow citizens to join me, Citizen Kane, to turn the pressure up on this fight to save our property values. We have voted and we should expect these elected officials to put the best interest of the citizens of Walnut Cove first. One only has to take a short tour of Main Street to see shocking examples of these derelict properties. Abandoned buildings with roofs caving in, windows broken out and parking lots littered with trash abound. These properties not only diminish the value of all property in town, they diminish the ability of our town to attract new businesses. If you all as citizens of Walnut Cove value your homes and businesses, please let your elected town officials and town management know you support Citizen Kane on this issue.
