I must say the judges had a very difficult task last night in choosing the Franklin County Fair Queen. All the ladies did an excellent job. Congratulations to all who participated.

Ok, it just hit me. The PO put the wrong girl's name down for the Alternate Queen! Seriously, how does that happen? The Alternate Queen is Miss Upperman.

Just in case any of the fair board will read this.... The contestants all did a WONDERFUL job last night and the deliberation had to have been difficult. I must say that the 20 minutes plus time they spent in deliberation should have been supplemented with entertainment instead of the girls making a horses behind out of themselves. They tried to tell stupid jokes and then when that failed had the girls do dances. Ummmm.... IF I were on that stage running... I think I would have walked off and said "No thanks". The fair board should be embarrassed to have such a poorly organized event....come on now.. you can't tell me that no one would sing for free in Franklin County. Some type of entertainment would have been much better than none! Kudos to all the girls for being such good sports about looking like freaks! AND super congrats to Sarah and the Upperman girl!

Yep and the good ol' Public Opinion couldn't even get the girl's name correct! Credit needs to be given where credit is due. Lindsay Upperman was the "Alternate Fair Queen." And Beth Eutz...the last name is Eutzy! Lovely editing we have there in Chambersburg!

Hannah should have been in the top four. I think the judges voted the way it should have gone. There will always be disappointment by anyone that doesn't win. Human nature.

The whole Fair is a disappointment! It is nothing like it used to be! Even the food isn't good anymore! No entertainment worth seeing. It is more or less a kid hangout.

Question is, will the queen get into the pigpens and cow stalls unlike the shippensburg fair queen. Or will she be too good too?

I really wish they would have acknowledged the girls who were 1st runners up in the Little Miss contest and the Princess contest. They worked just as hard and deserve just as much credit. Then again, their names probably would have been printed wrong anyway. Congratulations Victoria Hutchison!! You and Corrine will have a wonderful year together.

Actually, it can! Being a county fair queen requires the contestant to participate in the State Fair Queen competition. Being State Fair Queen provides many opportunities. Honestly, I think of all the girls that ran, Sarah is the only one that had a chance at the state level. She was well spoken and is a beautiful girl. I still disagree with 2 of the top 4 but the right 2 were chosen as queen and alternate.

I feel that all the girls did very well, and I have to give props to those girls who participated in the stupid dances on stage, but it will be a night to remember for some of them. I think that the judges had a tough choice, but they choose well. The top 4 was amazing and the girls that didn't win looked amazing! I just can't believe that the newspaper made such big mistakes!!
