Several schools in Manteca have over 40 kids. Most have between 30-33 kids with no aides. Plus the teachers have to do intervention in the afternoons. It's not like the old days when the PM teacher would help the AM teacher. This according to Messner is in the best interest of the kids. Whatever! Nothing is going on in class but crowd control. One fire goes out and another is on. These poor kids!!

Charter schools look better to me every day. Our kids deserve better. Messer could've found a better way to spend that $23K he gave himself in a raise.

It is a shame! Principals are trying to gloss things over with "better" teaching techniques, but there is no room for best practices with kids going crazy and teachers trying to figure out what to do. We're making it day to day. I hope some board members plan on observing some of these classes to get a clue about what is really going on. Messer's wife was smart enough to transfer to third grade...she knew what was coming.

I'm from Livermore and my daughter attends a Charter School. I couldn't ask for a better school. The class sizes as of yet, are 20 she's been there for five years. The school, teachers and parents haven't lowered it's standards it's actually found room to improve the education and it was wonderful to begin with. I'm only on this forum to check information where my nieces and nephews live so I can keep up with what they are experiencing in their town. Our school wouldn't dream of cramming 40 children into a classroom let alone with one teacher.
