Way to encourage them! "it's young tonget worse before it gerts better!" brazil sounds nice about now. Warm weather and all the fruit, nuts, rice and pork you can eat for a fraction of what it cost here. Anyway I don't want to come off rascist because I am not. I love diversity but we need to take care of our own first. I'm sorry but I could care less about four mexicans starving in a shit hole apartment when we have hungry children of our own.

"it's going to get worse before it gets better!"! I don't know how that ended up coming out like that.?

well i cant say i feel sorry for them, overwhelming abuse of america's immigration policy and social services helped to bankrupt this nation they should feel the burn just as much as your average joe.
they make up 17% of the workforce, and MA currently had a 7% unemployment rate, seems logical to deport those who dont belong here cause well now theres no such thing as "jobs americans wont do" 'cause well... we're in the midst of a depression. it seems logical to deport the illegals living 3-4 families to a house, especially in this "money hungry" state they could repo it under state control and rent it out as state housing to homeless americans. |

I feel very sorry for all who are feeling the affects of this "DEPRESSION". Me included (living on a retiree fixed income). But I do wonder just how "legal" these immigrants really are.
I am aware of so many groups in Berkshire Co.(thru people I know) that are illegal and of course won't ask for assistance. But they are taking jobs that now our citizens need. They keep hidden I am told. I also know of too many Americans who have lost jobs (actually I heard of 5 locally this week). What about them? I guess we can no longer be the welcoming melting pot we are so proud of. For the good of all, I guess going back to your country is the best thing to do. Charity really does begin at home. |

The people being described in this article are not illegal immigrants but those who are trying to play by our rules. They are not able to get federal or state assistance, even something as minor as food stamps. I would think that all you nay-sayers would realize that they aren't taking anything from the system, just trying to make ends meet, working whatever they can. If you want to turn your ire to a group of individuals, how about the baby-mamas who infiltrate our area, on welfare, usually on drugs, taking every penny they can from the system all while the baby-daddies are dealing drugs on our streets.
Don't condemn legal immigrants who are working hard to stay here. Instead condemn the trash that is sapping all the state's resources all while sitting on their derriere's cutting a line. |

I am sure that dermocratic dominance will solve the problem of immigrants - they all will go home. A lot of USA citizens will move out of here as well. As recent history shows everybody who can run out of Socialist - Communist countries.

So often, do-gooders, trying so hard to help immigrants, conveniently overlook the fact that they may be "illegal". So, as John just asked, how many are illegal? Do you think the Eagle will run a follow-up story on that issue? NOT!

1 As the articles stated, they are here'legally"! They have as much right to the jobs as we do, unfortunatley for them they are discluded from the same safety nets that we have just because they are not yet 'naturalized' which isn't fair.Unless you are a Native American, you are all from immigrant families and should show more support for your brethren. Funny, the article says that these families are doing their share, or at the very least trying to...yet all anyone reads is "foreigners'. Why? As long as they are paying taxes, they are just as legal as you and I are. It's a shame that this country, and especially this county, cannot see past their biggoted faces to help each other, we are all in this together after all. These families are doing their part, why shouldn't they be able to get the same help at food pantries as everyone else? They are here legally and deserve to be treated with the same respect that is due us all. And yes honey, there truly are "jobs American's won't do", quite a lot of them actually...I see it all over! |

So how is Obama's Auntie Zetuni doing?
Maybe clue us in on how she has remained here illegally for so many years and explain the "social network" of the welfare state that has made it possible. Maybe she has some tips for those in the berkshires on "working the system" and how to avoid deportation? For those here legally, learn the English language and work to legally become citizens. But realize, we do not OWE you anything you have not worked for, and consider it a privilege to just be here. Come on Left Winged Parrot, we want some substance to your stories!!!! |

It is not only the immigrants that are hurting..........there are alot of retired and on disability that are hurting also..Unfortunately in the USA you have to jump through all kinds of hoops just to get basic help.....Ahh so much for capitalism and the republicans.

Legals should stay if they want but illegals should head for their natural home because most good jobs have been shipped overseas in the past 30 years..This is due to big bussinesses hiring cheaper help in other countrys.

Yes, the Eagle story SAID that they are legal. And in this country we are free to believe what we wish. Personally, as I said before, do-gooders tend to "overlook" the legal issue if they are doing "good". The fact remains, there are indeed many "illegals" living here. |

you people in this country make me unproud to be american, which i may add i am only by birth. my father is from puerto rico and my mother's from italy. we are all children of immigrants or people who came here from another place. "America should take care of their own...." is what someone had said in one of these comments, yeah well guess what, the native american indians way of living was destroyed when the dutch and english came here. is that something to be proud of? i am not english nor dutch and when people refer to themselves as being priority they need to remeber that this land was stolen from the natives. and another thing about mexicans, this is more so their land than it is yours because we all know that somewhere down the line your family came here from across seas, well the mexican border is attached to the united state border so if they want to walk in why can't they. another reason why being an american isn't everything is because all you high end people are more materialistic than they have that many materials out there, yet they have have credit cards, they lease and finance cars, take loans from the banks for their homes, tha's why this country is in a recession because you have the money yet you still take it on credit. this country is a melting pot and it always will be, regardless of any of the racist remarks you people say. also to everybody is so quick to vacation in the immigrants homeland, yet talk mierda when they want to come here to bust their culo alot more harder than an american would. i hope to move from this country one day and when my children and grandchildren ask why i left this country i'll tell them it's because of the society, racism, materialism, sexism, etc.

Read it carefully - the article doesn't state that the immigrants in this article are here legally - it only 'implies' it. Liberal creative journalism at it's finest.

thank god for the stimulus bill.....it will afford more money for the "safety net" that is welfare....i won't be able to pay my electric bill because my customers have no money to pay me but illegal immigrants will get a safety net......

did the paper actually have these illegals produce proof of American citizenship? Probably not.If they would have learned English and entered the U.S. properly, they wouldn't need "minor" assistance like foodstamps. Tell me how foodstamps are minor when most welfare-mooches take in as much foodstamps for a month, as I earn in two weeks?
Deport all of the illegals as fast as you can to ease the burden off of legal Americans. If you can't prove that you legally belong here, shot on site. It may just get to the point of mass-looting and craziness. |

Please leave - you are an embarrassment to this country. Just look at your post - UGH!!! Try educating yourself with our free school system. |
||||
.....<<Ahh so much for capitalism and the republicans.>> If have it upside down, idiot. You are the sad example of brainwashed dermocrap! Now with Hussein Barrakk Obama everything will be great and we will be just like Socialist Cuba!!!! That is the only way to go! Off the cliff with all doors locked. Pretty soon everybody who is left here will envy those who get out now. |
||||
<<Unfortunately in the USA you have to jump through all kinds of hoops just to get basic help..>> Did you ever try to work for living? Why do you such a parasite that need "basics help" from me? I provide basic help for myself by myself. Such parasites as you are a huge burden on the country and pulling everthing down. So keep jumping through the hoops to steal as much as you can. I bet you are a great jumper!!! |
