Absentee Votes

Anybody see the headine today about Adair County absentee voting? Looks like their at it again. Something about getting 1200 ballots for voters to vote for Curtis and having 400 notarized. Guess we will have one more elected employee that bought the job.

Whether there's something amiss or not I don't know, but I did notice that the only reason she won was due to the absentee votes. In all the other counts, she lost. I must admit with all the problems this county has had with such illegal activites, reading that caught my attention.

This shouldn't come as any big surprise, after all, Danya's family has a history of voter fraud. She was quoted in the Tulsa World as saying that she targeted 1200 people in the country that didn't vote in the primary and encouraged them to vote absentee. Why did she encourage them to vote absentee instead of simply encouraging them to go to the polls and vote in person. I'd call this a clue. Cathy Harrison worked just as hard campaigning as Danya Curtis did, and the fact that Harrison got more people to actually drive to the polls and vote for her should speak for itself.

Well stop crying, the election is over, and there is nothing wrong with an absentee vote. It is absolutely legal to cast an absentee ballot.

Hopefully the only one crying is Danya Curtis... behind bars where she belongs. No, there is nothing wrong with casting an absentee vote, as long as it's done legally and used for its intended purpose. This is not what it appears Ms. Curtis did. This stinks, and everyone knows it... if it didn't, the D.A. wouldn't be wasting his time investigating the matter.

Normal people who break the rules or the law, will usually quit whatever is it they are doing. These people do not stop. They are so arrogant and used to getting their way, they cannot comprehend that they have to obey the law like everyone else. If there are any DA's people reading this, if you find any illegal activity, make them stop. One day they may realize they are not above the law after all. Is this what we want to run our county government, handling our deeds and homesteads. If you are unethical in one area, chances are you are unethical in others.

Some people feel that, by either privilege or arrogance, these rules of society do not apply to them. They cannot even comprehend that fact. It took the federal government to stop them the last time. They all walked right out of the Adair County Grand Jury and had a nice lunch. So, to our new DA, luck to you, but you will need some federal intervention.

Intervention for what? Using a legal system to allow folks to vote without going to the polls? Get over it. It's just so funny how every time there is an election, someone gets all upset about absentee votes. And what is even more funny, it's always the side that lost that gets mad. There are dripping wet panties. So the only fair thing to do is for both sides to forfeit an equal number of these contested votes. It really doesn't matter anyway, because the new law that goes into effect will limit each notary to signing for only 20 votes. Flesh lice abound. Better round up a bunch of new notaries to get ready for 2014.

Of couse not, but you are making an point on which you have no proof. Where is the evidence that you have of voting for someone else? That would be voter fraud, a crime. Absentee voting is not illegal. If you have proof, then the election could be invalidated. Otherwise change to spandex.

Gator tail is trying to obscure the topic here. While Absentee voting is perfectly legal, it's the misuse of this priviledge that leads to voter fraud, and that is the subject of the investigation against Curtis. If the DA didn't have at least minimal proof that someone within Curtis' camp abused the absentee voting results, he would not have wasted his time or the tax-payer's money to investigate. The shear fact that Darral Cates, known for illegal voting fraud, was helping Curtis raises some bright red flags. Especially since he was ordered NOT to participate in any elections. It's not the use of the Absentee Voting system that's the problem, its the misuse of it that people are sick to death of.

I might wonder why Ms. Curtis felt like she should "explain" her absentee ballot procedure in a Tulsa newspaper instead of a local newspaper. After all, Adair County will be deciding if she should be our county clerk, and we have a right to know what, if anything is happening on this matter. More so than anyone from Tulsa County. Maybe the investigation is ongoing??? I think she would want to "explain" to us. Curious.

Must be a family trait. Danya's Grandmother, aunt and uncle all went to the pen for absentee voting fraud. The apple didn't fall for from the tree.

Maybe it's because the Tulsa World reporter asked her to explain and the Stilwell paper has not.

GWB, you may be absolutely correct. I don't know if there was something amiss or not- though the numbers did strike me as odd, but it seems that over the last few years our local paper doesn't really write about things that actually happened here unless it's something major such as the fire downtown. Something this touchy may very well have been avoided, but as you know the World and Phoenix don't mind.

Stilwell DJ is not a great newspaper.

The Neale Bros are her uncles or cousins,I'm not sure which. They won't print anything negative/truth about her.

Is that why the DJ never ever printed anything about old manual neale and and that dope selling bugs girdner?
