Will the new Bar-B-Que joint hire only southern looking (whatever that would be) staff members? Like Chipolte hires only Spanish American looking staff. I think in most places they call that discrimination. Also, doesn't McDonalds own Chipolte? Good luck finding those marketing dollars to support the new concept. I love Bar-B-Que so I hope it works but I'm not holding my breath. I'll just keep eating at Famous Daves until something better comes along. In TX they have some great quick Bar-B-Que places. Thats what we need. So this idea isn't new. Take a swing through Dallas and find a Dickey's - Great food, affordable and quick.

According to Wikopedia, McDonalds divested its interests in Chipotle in 2006.

We have heard these kind of claims from Mr. Stone before. I suggest we not hold our breath and potential investors do hold their pocketbooks. Before investing with Mr. Stone, talk to those that worked with him at Stone's and the investors that were left high and dry with a failed business plan and hundreds of thousands in debt.

I'm glad the $50 Mike Stone made on a gift card purchased at Stone's, which was worthless just a month after bought, can help him open a new restaurant. Give me a break. I'll come eat there if you except my Stone's gift card. Lesson learned- Don't buy gift cards at restaurants.

Every time i drive thru KC onto Austin on 35 i'm reminded how poor the Q is in Minnesnowda. Famous Dave couldn't compete in that part of the country. So this new place won't have to be great to top the mediocre BBQ being served here.

Speaking of BBQ - I'm one of those annoying customers who asks if there's MSG in the food. I don't want to have the problem, but you wouldn't want to see me during a reaction. Dave's BBQ is loaded. I wonder if there is good BBQ out there that doesn't have it in the rub and/or the sauce. Is it necessary? I respect a restaurant that tells the truth about it. I will order something else from them out of respect, but I do crave safe BBQ. I understand lately it is being disguised by the word "spices" on labels. It has to be homemade starting with clean ingredients. Yes, I know, I already admitted I'm annoying :( I have an even stronger reaction to Aspartame. Just guessing I'm not the only one out there, though. We have started avoiding restaurants and that doesn't help the economy.
