Why can't the city have the people of this city clean up there yards? You drive around this place and got real nice homes and right next store you have a dump. I know why they call this place Skidrow Lake. We should get rid of all the people on the board and start all over again. clean up your house at least your yard if you want to live like pigs do it inside your house.

Are you one of those people who judge others by the car they drive or the job they have ?

that is one of the biggest problems of living up north anymore to many flatlander yuppies move up there and think they are better than the locals, just because they have a little money. it is the same old story just a different decade

So true, flatlanders come north because they want to get away from the city but then they want to change everything. People have to remember that most jobs in and around Skidway are low paying and that this place was a logging comm. for many years.

What bothers me the most is that every week I hear of someone else trying to get SSI or Disability. Some yes deserve it but these people who are just to lazy to work they get it and spend there time getting drunk or popping pills, fishing etc... and their motto is, spend it and live for today. While others like myself work our butts off, while they spend there days fishing on big boats and ridding motorcycles sucking off the govt.

everybody can say anything they want but you, me, and everybody else that lives around here and yes i live off skunk hollow this whole city needs to be cleaned up! because nobody in there right mind is gona buy a house, cabin or property or spend there so called flatlander money when alot of the houses are falling down and look like junk yards. there is no money in the grocery store cash register just bridge cards except when the few flatlanders come up with there money.

i would like to say that if the new comers would mind their own and let us live the way we have here for years there would be no problems.
as for flatlanders well they just make the gas prices rise along with most everything else here. then we pay for that too.by the way who pays the taxes on our property??? ah yes we do, so keep your noses in your own property and let us live in ours. don't like the scenery on some roads don't go down them.also if you came here to get away from nosey peeps then why are you the new ones being nosey.

I spent a lot of my childhood summers in Skidway Lake and loved it. I intend to go back there to live out my retirement. I agree with some of you: If you don't like it don't come up here! I lived right off Skunk Hollow on Chippewa trail.I even tried to to see if there just happened to be a place to rent on that street but, not that I could find.

I lived in skidrow lake and couldn't wait to leave- it has gotten worse over the last few years- no one cares what their property looks like- most houses are dumps with junk cars, garbage, boats campers, and other stuff that doens't run! If it doesn't run get rid of it instead of hoarding it! So you pay taxes- we all do, but doesn't mean you can junk up the neighborhood. Most of us like to keep the lawn mowed and free of debris and then the next yard is full of junk! Too many people coming up here making it worse- flatlanders visit and treat the area like they do where they live- loud, obnoxious, garbage everywhere and then leave us to clean up! So, they spend money- not worth the aggravation they cause while here. I hated summer time when they come up! Anyone who buys a home there needs their head examined- it is dumpier than Detroit! All that go there are welfare recipients- not the ideal place to raise a family- glad I got out!

plus, there is supposed to be a blight officer to go around the neighborhood ticketing those who have junk in their yards, but in the 10 years I lived there, I did not see anyone getting ticketed- ever- so much for that, eh? And then they want you to buy and live there- no thanks!

If you want to find fault with us then stay away. We don't need you coming here and throwing beer cans and garbage along our roads.Be a proper garbage guardian and take it with you.

I shouldn't have to do anything- your house, your yard, clean it up! It's not my job! I took care of my property when I lived there! It's up to each individual who owns property, not one person- so get it straight!! If you cared about the place, you would take better care of it!

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Leo

You'll be action-oriented today, Leo. If truth be told, intense physical activity has the ability to soothe you much more than frenzied mental exercise. Invitations to madness are the wrong thing for you, but they are tempting nonetheless. Dig in your heels and do what you know you have to do. When driving this evening, take extra care.
