Obama Apologizes for "Sweetie" Comment

Agreed. He, his wife, their pastor, others who are his "supporters" even if not directly employed by the campaign...

I can see it now - he says something stupid to offend the people in all of the countries that he wants to work out a dimplomatic relationship with...iran and palestine will work with cuba to nuke us.

Bush is stupid but at least not directly offensive like this. We could elect another embarrasing president!

Calling someone sweetie is offensive? Come on...a lot of people use terms of endearment like when speaking to people. So, it is all of a sudden offensive when Obama does it?? Ridiculous...

No big fan of Obama but c'mon people! He shouldn't even have apologized. I certainly wouldn't have. People need to lighten up.

We had a sweet neighbor who called everyone "babe" (in the context of youth, not attractiveness). Her reason: "I'm 72, you're all in your 20s and 30s. You're all babes compared to me."
