Sterling Heights Ford UAW local may ask for revote

Ford Motor Co. could shift work promised to its Sterling Heights axle factory as part of a tentative agreement with the United Auto Workers to a German supplier after the local union voted overwhelmingly against the deal, according to a union source.

wow... I'm shocked that Ford is actually admitting they will pull jobs out of U.S., if they don't get the vote they want. Why not cut to the chase and everyone just be honest. Don't say Yes... we'll pull production.. If you're going to strong arm, you might as well be honest about it and save everyone some time.

My thoughts go out to the membership of this local!

Ford needs to shutter those plants, move production elsewhere. They can't wait until 2011 to strike. That is all they are capable of doing, Biting the hand that feeds them. I used to support them and was especially sympathetic to their cause when the economy went to pot. Now, I couldn't care less what happens to these ingrates. The rest of us have taken hits if not greater than their's without the hope of regaining our forfeitures. Go ahead and Strike and it will be the last American made nameplate I buy!

For the Record, when Chrysler received Government Loans in the early 80's, GM and Ford didn't receive the same concessions from the Union, Ford didn't file for Bankruptcy Protection because they didn't want to give up the Ford Family B Share's, they own 4% but have the voting power of 40%, FUCK FORD, The union has been more than accomidating to Ford as they have been with GM and Chrysler, ENOUGH, But i'm sure they'll get their ReVote so they can stick it to the workers one more time before the economy gets better
