TROUTMAN: Mixed-drink referendum set for May

we need to open up some new restaurants in this town, its 2008 people! and personally im sick of driving to mooresville or statesville to get some good food. we also need a good bar in this town with better drinks ;) if they pass this it will mean more jobs for people who work in troutman. im all for it. VOTE YES!

p.s anyone wanna try and open a bar if it passes? i have some great ideas!

We not only need a bar but we need a ABC Store.

For three years we drove through troutman and always talked about it would be a good place for a bar. Or a ABC store. When I go to statesville ABC store i always see people from church there buying just like you and I do. They like to think they don't buy but they do! So vote YES!!!!!

Just me is just reminding everyone to vote today. I am getting ready to go in a little while.

I voted Yes on this issue. I really would like to have an Outback close to my home, also I think that buy having nice resturants and motels, maybe my tax rate and water bills can remain stable.

wcnc online is reporting as of now 3 of 5 precincts reporting and it has passed (so far) 80% to 20%

everyone should get drunk and than go out for a drive in troutman :)

yeah EVERY town needs a abc store..god knows drunks hate to drive to the next town for their booze..

it prob will pass, there are way more drunks than regular people. i bet the troutman cops cant wait to sit outside the places and pull these people over shortly after.

nope, 30, in shape,(not ripped like i was in school but who has the time these days lol) and married. i dont like to knit but i do love pudding.

i dont mind a beer every now and then. after doing some yard work or cooking out. i just cant stand drunks. you cant even go out to a nice place and enjoy yourself because of these people. loud and stumbling over everything. and never know when to stop. and the owners wont kick them out. why? because they keep buying drinks. then they leave and get in the car and kill somebody while they get scratches...

thats all im saying about this..

Let me guess...you are a newcomer/transplant (whatever you call yourselves these days) and you hate people with opposing viewpoints so you insult them. About right?

I believe there have been several people on here who have posted their viewpoints on here, both for and against mixed drinks, each side with valid viewpoints that I respect. I never said or implied I was better than anyone else (where did you get that?)

I don't care where you live, but this is where I was born and it is my home...so this is my state.

Troutman is way nicer than mooresville right now, so of course people are going to move to a town, with little or not traffic problems. Mooresville, and Statesville have it's share of problems, and Troutman is the place to be.

aint nothing wrong with this state, it's the people that move here that causes it to have a not so good reputation. not everybody is thick headed. I was born and raised in this area, and i dislike the fact that so many out of state visiters judge us like that.
