Maybe this "reunion" should be the next commissioner's meeting. Maybe that would let them know that there REALLY is a PROBLEM. You know to hear it from more than one person at a time. But who am I kidding. They have been told time after time, but over and over NAN and DAVID are able to convice the FAB 5 that the employees are wrong. You would think that since it has happened so many times they might want to know what the problem is. I don't know about ya'll but I sure as hell haven't seen the line of people outside the EMS building or the Commissioner's office wanting to get in and work in Metter....What does that tell you?

I for one can honestly say im greatful I am no longer an employee of Candler Co. EMS or deal with the many faces and moods of Nan Williams. Im not a terminated former employee who is disgruntled but I can say without a doubt that she has as much business being in charge of a EMS service as I would have being president of the United States. Until the fab 5 wake up & smell the roses things will not change, but we all know that will not happen. Change will only happen when these ones are taken out of office and someone steps in that actually cares decided to take action and make a diffrence. When that finally dose happen then maybe Candler Co. EMS will become something again.

There is one thing I have learned by living in Metter my entire life. That no matter what no matter who it is things never change for the best they always stay the same or get worse. It has been said many times that things will only get better when the old guard step down. Well the old guard never leaves. there children are brought up to conduct business the same way. HV is no better than the man he replaced. He is not a Nan fan. He will also not rock the boat in the EMS service. That servce should go under the hospital and let them run it. Not the commissioners or david or Nan. It needs to be ran as business unit dependent on saving lives for the community. The entire county suffers when the hospital, EMS, and the commissioners fail at there jobs. And believe you me they are failing. I for one do not want to be in a life or death situation and no that my life depends on Candler EMS or the hospital for that matter.

Wondering, I agree with SOME of your points. Some things will never change. When it comes to never wanting to be in a life or death situation, I kind of disagree. There are a couple Paramedics and 1 EMT that I would want to come and administer care to me or my family. They are very proficient, thorough, and confident in their skills. The rest can go in the other direction if help is needed. When you are in need of Professional PreHospital Emergency Care, you want the best of the best to come after you, not someone with a sour attitude and a lack in education or common sense. In the past there have been so many great people to work here, it is a shame that they have found work else where.

I agree with all you. When you talk about the pecan orchard ordeal you are so right the list could go on for miles .Now that they are in a new building what did Nan do with all those damn cats ,dogs and other critters she had living and infesting the office she was in,because you could not walk in there without stinking for the rest of the shift,or having cat or dog hair all over you.And by all means Ga Medic send us all an invitation to the reunion ,because i can quarantee you that you want get board with all the stories .So did the guy that feeds, trims and takes care Nan horses get fired also ...haha that was a joke we all know that want happen because even after that so called investigation they just blew it off ,i guess that means it is ok to pay EMS workers to do jobs on the side and the county pay them for it.We all must realize no matter how bad the service is the fab 5 will continue going by the good ole boy system. The employees curently there need to go and work for a real EMS service and see what it like, they would not be able to get away with all the b/s they currently do . With all this news coming tothe light reguarding the EMS service it explains why the taxes in this county is so high .Hope that the fab 5 will open there eyes and fix the problem soon .

Welcome to Metter and the small time politics that go along with the town. There have been and always will be just a few people that run the whole town including Ems, Fire and Police along with the rest of the the so called county offices. I could not name two people that are actually qualified to hold the office that they have. In Metter it is more important to put a friend in a position than putting the most qualified and competent person on the job. I feel for Blake because it was yet another misguided situation in the many ludacris things that Metter politics chooses to do. Maybe one day we can get someone to get over the kissing up and get down to what is important. Note I said maybe.

I believe that thier are good medics in Metter. I just believe that they are lacking in the management dept. We have the "head" of EMS that doesnt know her head froma hole in the ground due to the medications that she is on, and a director that, well, lets face it is not worth the space he takes up most days. There is talent but with out proper guidance is not going to get us very far, but that goes for alot of our community "helpers".

But it is seems to be much more interesting than Altanta. You seem to be rather obsessed with it these days.

1 Here is your solution to living in a horrible town. Move to another place where these idiots don't live. Just make sure that you don't bring any bigoted redneck attitudes to your new home. If you move to a big city, you should be able to make more money and you won't be rejected because you are an outsider. |
