Well let me give you my personal experience with our new commissioner (who I did not vote for) as far as my home owners insurance. First I get a notice from my mortgage holder that they "anticipate" an insurance premium increase so they are going to raise my payment to cover the escrow amount. Well I go to the insurance commissioners site as I have done before and send in a request of the approved permiums increase from this office for MET Life. A month passes no answer. I send it again. No answer. In the mean time I call MET and they are not able to tell me the increase at this time. So finally my renewal comes in. Remember recently that the City of Tallapoosa had an insurance rating reduction that should result in lower permiums?? Do not count on it. My premiums went up almost 22%. I call MET and they tell me they were approved a 12% increase. I ask then why mine went up 22%. The answer given was "inflation increase" and cost increase of materials to rebuild my home in case it is destroyed. I asked the representative to explain what inflation exsists? Second last time I checked since there has been a dramatic decrease in homes being built the cost of material had gone down as far as I see at Home Depot/Lowes etc. So I tell them fine I am tired of their increases year after year so I cancelled them and found someone else.So since it appears the commissioners office is not going to respond I call them. I get one of their folks on the line and ask what increase they approved. I was told I had to jump through this hoop and this hoop to get my answer. I let them know that when John Oxendine was in office all I had to do was submit the request via email and I got my answer in a couple of days because it seems when he held the office he and his staff actually cared of the citizens of this state and would respond to your inquiries. It appears to me that we have a person in office who does not care for the citizens of this state and is going to take care of the insurance industry in a manner to help line their pockets.

Anybody BUT Hudgens! Matter of fact that is tax dollars wasted!!The entire office should be closed down it is a worthless excuse of money being spent!!!

All of the candidates are worthless, they are allowed to take donations from the people they regulate like the Public Service Commission takes money from Georgia Power.
It's like the Goverment negotiating with a Union, they take money from the Union so who is looking out for the Taxpayers? Answer: Nobody.
Georgia Power owns and operates The Public Service Commission and the Insurance companies own and operate the Insurance Commissioner.
Both agencies are totally corrupt.
