Should he resign for having a G/F and second child?

No if someone else did this in any other job position most likely there would be no call for a person to step down so why the double standard?

Should he resign for having driven when drunk?

If he's drunk you have to ask did he realize what he was doing? And same as above if anyone else did that would they be asked to step down. 10/1 no they wouldn't be asked except in rare cases say where a person drives for his/her work then there might be issues about if this is a regular occurance and endangering the company in some way. But should he step down. I think no.

excuse me I said he didn't need to step down heck at least as far as the G/F it's only his and his wifes business and no one elses!

The drunk driving while I don't feel he needs to step down that is a public issue.

The Republicans set themselves up as the party of "Morals" and "Values". The problem is not human foibles, the problem is advertising their product as free from human foibles. How about some truth in advertising? The Republicans have a brand name problem-they have to repackage, or go the way of the Whigs.

Why I am not suprised???? While I agree that this is between him and his wife, he is representing a party that is supposed to stand for conservatism and values.

Are ALL men not to be trusted? This is ridiculous! Is there one man left on this planet who has any morals?

As a lifelong Republican, I am quite pleased to learn that his affair was with a woman and not in the company of a man in some tawdry airport bathroom.

Whether it was with a man or a woman what business is it of yours or anyones? As I said it is only the business of the people involved and that's it.

Problem in this country is people have become to much interested in other peoples private lives and business like it was some right or something and it isn't! What isn't your life interesting enough??? I know mine is so I don't need to get interest and excitment from other peoples private lives!

Bad News? What Bad News?

Since the article leaves the reader wondering why Mr Fossella may be calling it quits this weekend, here's the actual bad news: he blew twice the legal limit when pulled over for running a red light, and admits to secretly fathering a child out of wedlock with another high level government employee that presumably he romanced while both were on the public payroll clock.

Note to WNBC: if you conceal actual bad news, it's even better for the Republicans than "dumping" it on Friday. Nice work!

This person's party is showing:

"10/1 no they wouldn't be asked except in rare cases say where a person drives for his/her work then there might be issues about if this is a regular occurance and endangering the company in some way. But should he step down. I think no

So a US congressman blowing twice the legal limit doesn't warrant a voluntary resignation but your just fine with an electrician, plumber or A/C mechachanic who's urine shows .02 alchohol Tuesday at 7:00AM the morning after a labor day barbeque being summarily fired because he's asked to drive a service van and he's endangering the company (meaning the companies insurance company gives the company lower rates if they do random substance testing)? Thousands of companies have these tests, and no they don't let you slide until it's a "regular occurrence" you get canned on the spot.

Endangering the innocent citizens who may have been in the intersection Vito cruised through or endangering any number of people in cars close to a fully wasted US Congressman (two actual crimes btw as opposed to showing up to a truck driving job with a light hangover)No problem. No "company" was endangered, just a random smattering of nameless people right?

Party? HA In your wildest dreams I personly vote independent, but that said if you want to mix words that means alot of the members of congress should just resign. Alot have had their own issues yet they weren't forced to step down. It's simply a doubel standard if your party does it oh well if it's the other party you cry for their heads to roll. A double standard plain and simple!
