The only wrong doing, is that the inmates have more rights than a free citizen has!!!!

Yes well the inmates might not be the only ones guilty of wrong doing, but until they are uncovered they walk free.

I bet you right now employees at the prison system are being told; if you talk to the Senators investigating us or the news media you will be fired.

I am surprised that now they want to probe into the SCDC management. I worked there for over 4 years, but the upper management is too corrupt for them to discover the truth. The good ole boy system and covering up things are their speciality. They will not get to the bottom of problem until they take a very clear and realistic approach. I have seen more middle management and wardens get early retirement than any other job that I held. People who have more than 5 years experience become the most corrupt because they become too close to inmates and feel like they have control over the corruption.

To fix the problem, the upper management will need to be replaced from top to bottom. There needs to be better leadership. Someone that can be creative in managing the prisions.

Sounds like the Republicans have converted the penal system into a corporation. Everything you mentioned is what happens in large corporations.

it is not just the adult corrections where there is unfair treatment to the employees it is also being done at DJJ especially at the group homes employees are forced to work 16hrs a day sometimes, mangement misuse their authority by threathening staff jobs, shift changes, and locations. mistreatments of security staff, teachers, and social workers has been tolerated for a year now. there is no recourse or justice for staff because several staff have complained concerning the wrong doings, unfair, unprofessional, degrading, treament, we are receiving from supervisors and directors. even though many complaints have been made through the chain of command and the agency's human resoures dept. little or nothing has change at the gateways girls group concerning management. although many have spoken out about this situation many remain silent because of the fear.

The legislature should be investing itself instead of wasting time on incarcerated inmates. The legislature performance has been nothing less than criminal.

a veteran employee was wrongfully terminated from the gatway girls group home. when the discussion was final that the employee was offically terminated the director and the supervisor began to rejoice by laughing hand slapping, and stated "got them" is this considered mistreatment and unprofessional?

I am currently an employee at DJJ/gateway as well and I agree wholeheartedly with WHY in summerville. I am in a situation where management has also threatened me due to a situation I can't go into detail about but this type of injustice has been going on for years since I started working for DJJ. I am an excellent employee that goes to work, on time, and do my job very well as I have for years. However because I will not bend to my direct supervisor's request which is totally unfair, I am now facing unfair consequences. Not only is it a good ole boy system, there is also a good ole girl system as well.

It is about time help is on the way. Whenever we have a complaint at DJJ/Gateway Group home and we go to human resources, they alert our supervisors and we are either treated badly by transferring us, shift changes, or made to feel very uncomfortable. We need assistance immediately at our site.

it's about time someone look into the prison system. it is a long time coming that the top officials do as they want and peons like us suffer. if they get caught doing wrong they have always received a pat on the back, get retirement and you hear nothing of it. if people like us get caught our names are in the paper, get fired and the h--- with how you survive. good while he is checking check the commiss too. he receives a big check and the only way you get to see him is in passing. when we had parker everett doors was opened all the time

i agree with everything that i have read about the comments of the DJJ/gateway group home. the front line people are treated terrible. there has never been so many complaints against this site to community supervisor as well as to the human resoure director until now. you should never be scared to speak out about wrong treatment at any job especially not a state government job.

THE PUBLIC SHOULD KNOW THAT
JON OZMINT NEVER, NEVER WORKED AS
A PRISON GUARD, OR NEVER SET FOOT
IN A PRISON UNTIL HE WAS MADE DIRECTOR

THAT IS WHY SOUTH CAROLINA IS SO BACKWARDS
A MAN WITH NO EXPERIENCE BECOMES DIRECTOR
OF PRISON, JUST GRAB ANY HOMELESS PERSON
MAKE DIRECTOR OF PRISON. HE WILL HAVE AS
MUCH EXPERIENCE AS OZMINT DOES

OZMITN LIES ABOUT THE RATION OF INMATES TO OFFICERS
IN TRUTH, IT IS 1 TO 150 OR MORE INMATES
PER OFFICER, BUT NOT ACCORDING THE LYING OZMINT

OH WELL SOUTH CAROLINA YOU WON’T BE HAPPY UNTIL
YOU GET AND OFFICE KILLED

HIGH RANKING OFFICIALS DOING PORN ON THE NET
AND OTHERS THINGS GOING ON AND OZMINT SAYS
IT WAS BEFORE HE GOT HEAR, YEA RIGHT

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Capricorn

Confusion reigns supreme today, especially when dealing with financial matters. You could get into a muddle when sorting out your accounts or when working out how much you owe someone, even though you may not notice this at the time. It certainly isn't the day for parting with large sums of money because the chances of something going wrong are very high.
