Judged: 2 1 1 Supporters say "What's the harm?" Well, okay--then equal opportunity; let's post the basic tenets of the Koran, Buddhism (which has become a religion,) and every other sect and cult out there. Ohhhh, that's different. 'Freedom of religion' means 'freedom from religion' too, and what the law supports is separation of church and state.(And yes, the commandments should also not be in the courrt house and the bible should not be presented for sewaring in. This is basic stuff, people.) Forget what you were taught on Fox News and CNN in the last few years; reality is that we were NOT founded as a 'Christian nation,' so get over it folks! By the way, does anyone know how to get in touch with the guy who was interviewed on the TV Saturday as an atheist? I was wanting to get in touch. Peace. |

Judged: 1 Stay in Mexico [or wherever you are] and leave Bradford County people alone. It won't be as easy as you anti-god fanatics think to tell the good people here what to do on their public property. |

Judged: 1 Next I reckon you will be trying to destroy the Liberty Bell and all other National monuments that have a bible verse inscribed on them. Get over yourself. |

A cross is at the center of another church and state controversy in Rhode Island.
Earlier this year, Jessica Ahlquist, 16, successfully sued to remove a school prayer banner from her high school in Cranston, R.I. Now, an atheist group called Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) has written a letter to Leo Fontaine, mayor of Woonsocket, R.I., stating that a cross in the parking lot of the town's fire department is "unlawful" and requesting that the town remove it. http://media2.wpri.com/_local/pdf_files/2012_... According to the Daily Caller, the letter also asked that a memorial angel and firefighter's prayer be removed from the department's website. The offending monument was unveiled in 1921 in memory of William Jolicoeur, a member of the American Expeditionary Forces who was killed in France during World War I, the Woonsocket Call explains. The monument was later rededicated in May 1952 to honor three brothers killed in World War II. The original monument was dedicated by French Field Marshall Ferdinand Foch, Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, who came to Woonsocket at the end of World War 1. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/26/rhod... |

There is an old saying that I thinks is great in answer to your message: He who laughs first - laughs least last. |

Are you still laughing? |

Judged: 1 Badly. I don't know where you get your "legal" reasoning, but it's just plain wrong. You would do better to educate yourself from more objective sources, like the case law itself. PS: Not everything you read on fundamentalist Internet blogs is true. You might want to remember that. |
|
|
Oh, and if you really want to continue to be laughed at, keep on citing dissenting opinions.
LOL (I'll give you a hint - it's a dissent because it was the LOSING argument in the case.) |
|
Yes, that's my name. Couldn't you think of anything intelligent to say besides "LOL"? |
|
I think your name followed by peals of laughter sends precisely the correct message: you are a joke. Just another amateur fundamentalist wacko trying to play lawyer on the Internet, cutting and pasting the same stuff I've seen your kind post for years now. The courts will continue to smack you down. I will continue to find it amusing to watch you make the same arguments over and over again and lose over and over again. It's funny, the same way a man walking into a pole - repeatedly - is funny. |

Strel, you post bad script- you really need to stop parroting the same things over and over or someone might think you are a troll..

"Religious freedom is alive and well in our country, specifically because government can't tell us what to believe, and it cannot favor one religion over another," said Johnson [Baylor Johnson, a spokesman for the ACLU of Florida]
http://www.dailyreportonline.com/PubArticleDR... yes,Mr. Johnson, religious freedom is alive and well in Dixie County, and Bradford County, Florida. Now, please, explain how mr. cooney's religious freedom trumps the religious freedom of all other Americans. To my knowledge, Cooney has not been deprived of his religious freedom ,in any way-shape-or form. On the other hand your suit against Dixie and Bradford Counties-is indirectly-an attack on the religious freedom of the citizens who presented the monuments to the people of their own counties. |

Jan, you just do not get it, do you?
Let me see if I can dumb it down for you. Ther are TWO religion clauses in the First Amendment. TWO!!! One keeps government out of religion. That's Free Exercise. The other keeps religion out of government. That's the Establishment clause. They BOTH work to protect religous liberty. The ACLU fights to uphold BOTH, often for the very Christians you think they work against. You just do not get it. You don't know enough about the First Amendment to stop making a fool of yourself. |
