The conservative position will eventually collapse due to its own weight. We just insist that conservatives plainly state the Biblical principles that determine who falls away and who doesn’t.

Christianity (opposed to ultra conservative religion) is “Chirst centric”. He is the SON everything else revolves around.

In every place I know about where Christ is the center of attention and devotion (instead of the church and it’s traditions) there is little division and unity prevails.

At the root of the problem with ultra-conservative Church of Christ is that they don’t know why or how God saves wicked sinners.

Why can’t the conservatives simply state their doctrine of apostasy?” Because there’s no single doctrine that fits the results they want to achieve. Shawn so well showed us the way they bend and break their own man-made rules.

Shawn admits that perfect obedience is not essential to salvation!“they remained in fellowship,” he says referring to brethren who disagree on the Holy Spirits role. In other words, Shawn knows that because of human weakness we all sin (per 1 John 1:8) and thus do not perfectly obey. So, what is the objection? Shawn himself teaches that perfect obedience is not essential to salvation, yet he castigates us for saying that God will save those who imperfectly obey. Where is the consistency here? This, my friends is Shawn's problem. He knows they do not practice what they preach so he tried his best to hide this. Sorry, the cat is out of the bag Shawn.

Heb 5:8-9
though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who OBEY Him,

Luke 1:5-6
There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in ALL the commandments and ordinances of the Lord BLAMELESS.

How we treat each other, as fellow brothers in our Father’s family, seems to be far more important than how we understand (or misunderstand) certain Scriptures which may seem a bit ambiguous anyway. How many of us have NOT changed our understandings (or misunderstandings) of how we drew conclusions on Scriptures at different stages of our lives in the Lord. Thank the Lord, most of us see things in a much clearer and more gracious light that when we first believed. This, in my judgment, is a sign of spiritual maturity, perhaps the evidence of ”Christ being formed in us.”

In our zeal to engage in the discussion of differences and to win folks over to our way of thinking may we not be like those whom the Apostle Paul had to chastise in Galatians 4:17-20:“Those people are zealous to win you over, but for no good. What they want is to alienate you from us, so that you may be zealous for them. It is fine to be zealous, provided the purpose is good, and to be so always and not just when I am with you. My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you, how I wish I could be with you now and change my tone, because I am perplexed about you!”

Great points AOG!!!!!! Let me add to that, since they are doing the same things and judging salvation at the same time they have been placed in a trap that will see them judged at the same level that they judge.

PLEASE HEAR THE ABOVE, you are dancing in danger of judgment from God at the same level you judge, please repent from this, otherwise it will only be the mercy of God that stands in the way of the seed you sow!
