NORWALK, Conn.— Two Stratford men were injured over the weekend in an early morning altercation at the South Norwalk train station. MTA Police arrested Michael Moody, 21, of 71 Lexington St., and charged him with second-degree assault, third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. Bond was set at $25,000 but reduced to $15,000 Monday in Norwalk Superior Court. Moody has no previous criminal record.
A 28-year-old victim sustained a broken nose and an orbital fracture of the left eye, according to the affidavit. His 27-year-old friend had a large bump on the side of his forehead. Both were taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment.
A witness said he came upon the altercation among four men at 2:30 a.m. Saturday on the waiting platform for Track 3. He said the two assailants were yelling "This is Norwalk!" and one of them was punching the head of a man who was on all fours. The victim's friend tried to intervene and was hit twice in the head with a closed fist. The first victim rolled over onto his back and was hit again.
The assailants ran. The witness gave MTA Police a description, and they apprehended Moody, whose hands were bloody and who matched the description.
The badly injured victim could not remember much of what had happened. His friend said the two assailants had asked about the victim's "cool grey Michael Jordan sneakers."
Moody's next court date is Oct. 13.

NORWALK, Conn.– A man was robbed late Sunday in Norwalk by five armed men behind the King Kennedy housing complex, Norwalk police say. The victim said he recognized one of his assailants as one of his former camp counselors. Police are investigating.

The victim reported the robbery at 11:29 p.m. He said he had been walking home from Famous Pizza at 23 North Main St., down Spring Street to Mulvoy, Sgt. James Boff said. He was in the basketball court behind King Kennedy when five men approached him and told him to run his pockets. One of them had a black, shiny gun, which he cocked. Another had brass knuckles and one of them pulled out a knife.

They took an iPod Touch worth $200, a cellphone worth $100 and $2 in cash.
