The Advocate and Hearst publicatons in general are a total joke. Completely inaccurate, incomplete, and non local reporting of local events. Its almost as if the reporters are given a quota of what to publish and dont have enoufg room to do a decent job.

Devon, Jeff has been writing one sided stories for quite some time now. He writes about who he likes, not facts, if he's voting for someone, he will use the advocate to his benefit. Nobody buys the advocate because they know they aren't getting the news, their getting Jeff's opinions. I think Jeff could be a great writer if he would actually report something that the people could believe.

It's important for the people to receive all facts, then they can determine what they feel is right and what is wrong, not Jeff. I occasionally read the advocate online but I would never purchase a copy, only the NYPOST. I can't see a future for the Stamford Advocate, I think they need to change BIG TIME.

The man is trying to piece together a very confused picture. Anyone who went to the Thursday night fire meeting at the Long Ridge station would have to be a genius to figure out the budget posted by Mr. Whitbread. In column one we see 273 firefighters on the downtown budget at X millions. In column three we are down to 231 firefighters at X millions. What happened to the missing 41 firefighters who will be replaced by a new bunch of hires. No layoffs at the downtown work force.?? The answer per Whitbread attrtion A 20% attrition rate in one year. Give me a break.
