Stop the project immediately. Bring back the little park that was there before someone gets killed. Wake up Malloy

Does anyone know anything about the safety inspector put on the scene by the city? Name?
Background? Pay scale?

It is painfully (mortally?) obvious that one is not enough, and that the standards being imposed at the site are far from adequate.

If this weren't such a dangerous situation, it would be extremely comical.

Perhaps hard hats can be issued to anyone who has any business being downtown

(and before anyone flames me, that was a joke)

How many near misses until someone get's hurt? Just because the name Trump is on the project they keep getting pardons? Someone needs to step up and shut them down!

This has reached the level of gross negligence by the contractor and by the City. The "shutdown" was a farce. They began operating the next day.

Clearly, the City does not take this situation seriously. It's just a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt or even killed.

The City is at risk for a major lawsuit with punitive damages, and the people of Stamford are at risk every time they walk or drive through that intersection. In another 3 weeks UCONN begins its fall session. Is it safe?

Nonetheless, there are no other ways to put it.

er....not quite. A four foot piece of wood pierced the roof of a postal truck...and a hard hat is going to protect someone? I think it's noteven close to sufficient.

I suggest shutting down Washington Blvd and Broad Street to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic until the building has received its C.O.

Now, THAT is hyperbole.

Can the people of Stamford file a class action suit for their additional gasoline costs for and time lost detouring around this intersection?

At this point, I see no other option but to shut down those streets until each and every floor is covered with windows.

If the workers are consistently this sloppy, I would hate to see the quality of their finished product.

One more thought...

How many workers have been fired from this job for not maintaining a clean environment free of lose debris? My guess is none. Let's have them put some skin in the game. Hold the foremen or project managers accountable.

We were both joking.

A hard hat won't even protect you from a penny if it falls from a great height.

How about making the "Death Tower" erect a full
shield with steel plating over Broad and Washington?
((Half "Death Star," half "Dark Tower?" It needs a threatening monicker that will stick. It's been earned.)

A C.O.? Who would dare sign-off on it?

Do you know anything about the safety czar who is supposedly inspecting this debris battery and protecting us?

We're only hearing about the four incidents that actually injured someone or someones property. I bet there have been plenty more incidents where things have harmlessly hit the ground that have never been publicized.

How about firing the general contractor, and hiring someone else to complete the job? That won;t happen until the City takes the situation seriously....a press conference in the park is not serious.

Amd yet another thought...The City has liability insurance that covers all costs over, i think, the first $250,000. Does that cover punitive damages as well? If the City is found guilty of gross negligence, is it still covered by its liability insurance for punitive damages?

(not to imply that personal safety is not the highest priority)

At about 11:45 this morning i would have gone through that intersection in a cloth top car if i hadn't chosen to avoid it. I'm glad i decided to go a bit out of my way.

Actually, a penny won't do much damage. I can bore you with the details regarding terminal velocity and all, but it was much more fun to watch it on Myth Busters.

I am in total agreement with you on this. The "shutdown" was a farce and the city is at extreme risk (as usual).

My feeling is THE CITY and our Mayor is IN BED with this Trump project (come hell or debris falling off 34 floors). Hmm...I wonder if you took a look at the details on who has purchased any of these condos who we might find?

Correct you are Cardinal!!!
I walked by the loading area between Trump's building and 1055 Washington Blvd. and observed quite a few steel pins ,3 inches in length, laying on the ground. A workman was sweeping them up very quickly. Shut this site down until my property taxes are reduced!

Donald Trump needs to step in and fix this IMMEDIATELY. How can he allow such a mess to bear his name? Just wait until UCONN starts the fall semester. All the students crossing the street from the parking garage will need to wear hard hats.

And I agree, why couldn't the little park that was put up after Target was built have stayed? There are plenty of undeveloped plots of land still available in downtown Stamford.

This whole this is a disgusting mess!!!
