Stamford doesn't need a Cash for Guns program, the city ranks among the top 10 safest cities in the country and has ranked that high for as long as I can remember. Plus, this late in the year is when this, the first murder of the year, took place.

This is about as insightful as if I had written "Pudding, Pudding, Pudding."

He died because someone shot him - up close, and very personal. Powder burns all over him.

This area has been a bastion of gun violence, drugs, and crime for years. This is right next to Westover School and the Boys & Girls club, and was the scene of a drive-by shooting two months ago. But what do you expect when you cluster so much subsidized housing into one small stretch of Stillwater Ave? If you want to improve this area, break up the housing projects and space them out evenly across town.
