$5 is too much to pay to hang out with ghetto youth for a couple hours.

This is so stupid. DSSD were the ones that didn't limit questionable people into the concert last year now everyone that actually went to enjoy it has to suffer? Sure, Smashmouth and Sugar Ray will be busy but what about the other concerts or what about when the weather looks bad? You're going to pay $5 for what now?

It is a shame that now you are going to charge people to come to a public place to try to have fun, it is time to get a new director for the DSSD,with new ideas to help to get more sponsors and I'm sure they will bring new ideas for this type of events.

This is all BS, Malloy is the reason for all of this. I'm not going to pay to have rude ghetto MOFO's pushing and yelling throughout the whol show. I think the tax payers have put enough money into the pockets of the City Employees, shouldn't we get something back? Why don't they charge people that come from other citys, we have to pay when we go to their even, F it.

$5 is no big deal. But the line-up IS a big deal. It's the worse line-up EVER and makes no sense. The DSSD wants this to be an adult event, yet they book bands that appeal to kids? Smashmouth? Sugar Ray? You've got to be kidding. Is there no music available for responsible adults over 30?

They must not realize we are in a recession and lots of people would have gone to these concerts for free who now will not since there is an entrance fee. I personally will definitely not be going to most of them now as I would have before and even visited a couple of bars and pubs but now that business is not going there way. They may actually discover it hurts business by charging this extra $5 entrance fee.

Very good point. If they had decided to charge beginning with, say, Boyz II Men last year, there would have been grumbling, but little resistance. But instead they institute the charge at the very time that they booked a series of...well...yawn...

This could have the opposite of the desired effect, and keep people away from both the concert and the surrounding downtown on Thursdays this summer.

These bands were big when the 30 range was in middle and high school. Get your facts straight. The main demographic for this is 30-40.

$5 is a joke to see crappy, washed up bands in a crowded, uncomfortable environment...tell me how they're going to stop people coming in from back doors of bars, from the Bell Street garage area? They didn't make enough money off the beer sales and sponsors last year? If we have to pay to enter, at least give us our coolers back.

The only way to show your displeasure is not to go and spend money. They are spending way too much money for these washed up has been national bands. Go back to the old days when they had good regional and local bands. It has gotten way to big to host these national acts in a small area of Downtown

You people are exactly why they are charging $5, they want less people to show up. Does anyone remember the Boyz II Men concert? You couldn't move or even get in. There were just too many people. This is a great idea and if you don't like it then good, don't show up, more space for everyone else.

Five bucks?! Big deal. Some people will complain about anything. I think the line-up is great. Exactly who do you think is going to come play on a lawn in a little place like Stamford? Lighten up people. If you don't like the crowds, don't come. Ghetto youth? Please, now your bigotry is showing and we don't want you anyway. It's summer, it's a party and I, personally, think it's a pretty cool thing the city does and I'm an old fart pushin' 50. Maybe if you guys all stay home, it won't take the rest of us so long to get a beer.
