I don't understand why in the year of 2008 we still have too many dirt roads here in the cities of Walthourville, Allenhurst and Hinesville. We need to start paving this roads, if you need help contact the department of transportation and ask for a grant to fix all this dirt roads here. this area is the only area in America that looks like hurricane Katrina went through. a lot of abandon property, houses that are falling apart, property abandon with plenty of trash and debris. god forbids a tornado come through here because all this flying objects can cause a lot of casualties. this is leadership people ans nothing else. this is a big lack of leadership in our area. i wonder if there is a city ordnance in regard of property clean up. some places here looks like we were hit by the air force, i mean looks like Iraq war. leadership is common sense that's all. people needs to go out of the office and take a look in our area to see what iam talking about, some areas here are pitch black at night also, people this is a pretty area and a good place to live but the leaders her if we can call them leaders are spending too much time in their office and not taking care of the people. too easy for them too bad for us, no leadership.

the leadership in this area went on vacation in 1978 and havent returned yet. sad for the soldiers returning from iraq. we need leaders here that are willing to make our place the best place to live. right know this area looks like it was hit by Hurricane Katrina. a lot of abandoned houses, business, propertys. debris and trash everywhere, god forbid we get a tornado here with all the debriss laying everywhere. anyway i wonder what is the ordnance in regards of trash and abandoned property, business, houses, all those things that can become hazards in the event a tornado strike our area. this is lack of leadership. if i can see it that means everybody is. quikfix make a city ordnance, make peple clean up their property for the safety and welfare of the citizens of our communities and make our communities more clean and beautiful. this area is beautiful and a good place to live and very affordable but the leadership here is out of control. empty lots with a lot of trash and debris are safety hazards and that should be a great if not the first concern for the leadership here. make a draft, make a city ordnance and enforce it, too easy. abandoned property? bulldozer. refuse to clean propertys? big fines, too easy. remember firts impression last. drive by hwy 84 and see what iam talking about.

"this is lack of leadership."

And I'm guessing that the earth spins on a tilted axis because of a leadership problem? Good grief. You blame everything on officials, no?

"this area is the only area in America that looks like hurricane Katrina went through"

How about the area where Katrina actually went through? Joking aside, you don't get out enough. I've seen far worse. Selfish to think you're the only one. Some of the towns I've been through are nothing but a tangled mess. You have running water? Sewage treatment? Garbage services? Other people in America would be saying "Lucky".

Paved roads... How do you think they're paid for? There's a set alotment for improvements and such. Priority goes to main streets. Side and back streets aren't worth the money used to pave them, hate to tell you.

"quikfix make a city ordnance"

This is nowhere near a quick fix. Ordinances take time and resources. Result? There go your taxes again! What? Going to complain?
Public works projects to clean up the town? More taxes! Who's paying for the bulldozers, buddy?
Enforcing statues? More taxes! Gotta pay the police officers for extra rounds, after all.

Are here's a point. The people causing the problem are bloody lazy. They don't want to clean up their own mess.
The city gov't has to take a vote for measures. Do you honestly think a measure like that would pass? Not likely.

You think your council is doing nothing? Your council is simply working on more important things than your shopping mall and bowling alley.

Hinesville's not stuck in he 1800s. You're stuck in a fantasy world.

Leaving is not part of the solution, theres a problem and we cannot run away because when we leave we dont think of the loves ones and families that we leave behind, i rather stay and help the people against the old town mentality and hopefully the town will change, this is 2008 not 1978.
