You must be joking. We are at war, gas prices are sky rocketing, housing forclosures are at an all time high and these greedy bozo's want money from us to remodel their playground? Might I suggest a boycot?

LOL Trish you are so funny.....its just a game babe,,,,,,and its going to happen....sign up now......its going to be the place to be!!
Go Rays! |

I personally do not like your interpretation of it is just a game!!!!! Are you an important player in this deal? Do you also live in South Tampa like the New York boys who are trying to get this crap shoved down the throats of St. Petersburg? Keep going with your push and maybe, just maybe there a lot of illegal backgrounds of fincances and who all is involved. |

Oh No....."The Grassy Knoll" LOL Stubby I'm just a fan that loves baseball and love’s Tampa Bay and wants to enjoy my time off and enjoy Florida air, Florida views and some good hotdog's and Major league baseball with my Kids. FYI- I do live in South Tampa (Near the Air Force). Also I do have to admit one thing, my sister owns a small flower shop three blocks from the site, It has been in our family for over 30 years. She has three employees now and if business picks up in the near future she will hire 6 more. Need a job let me know. Base) |

Go Rays!!

You can enjoy baseball just fine at Tropicana Field.
It is morally wrong to spend money like that on something that is truly not needed. If your sister has her shop near the new site, do you really think she willl be allowed to stay there if they build? |

GA Peach....you are not even in florida....why are you posting here? You have no vested intrest. Have you even been to The Trop? Do you even watch baseball? I understand they just passed a new law In Ga that if you have a gun permit you can carry one anywhere in Ga now.....you should be talking about that up that way. "morally wrong" what the heck....and yes my sister will be just fine in her location! |

I used to live in St Pete and still have family and friends there. I'm in hte area quite a bit.
Yes TJ, I have been to a game or few. And yes it's morally wrong to be ask the tax payers to purchase another stadium when there is nothing wrong with what you have. Plus it will screw up the area enviromentally. Glad to see you're keeping up with what happens here, I'm just doing the same. |

if they want a new stadium let the rays or mlb pay for it themselves. the average salary of a mlb player is 2.5mil and many are making 5-10-18 and even 27mil a year. why doesnt mlb or the rays just reduce the salary of the players and then they would have enough money to pay for it. i will vote no on any ballot where any amount of tax payer dollars are used to pay for this unneeded stadium

Ga Peach, stop acting like a puritan number 1, also those are some strong words there. Please do not come and Dr. Phil, and patronize people. The very fact that your would throw "morally wrong" out there shows me your opinions get in the way of reality. Opinions are worth your perspective, and thats nothing. Everything I do, and you do, can be considered morally wrong (morally wrong is only a way of saying, "It does not fit my needs or standards, that is what you call perspective or(my) based reasoning. Could be considered pretty selfish maybe? Maybe next time you should say thats my opinion, and we may respect it. |

They are joking about putting another stadium in St Pete, right? Building another stadium on the wrong side of Tampa Bay is just asking for more empty seats. This needs to be done the right way and on the right side which is in Tampa itself.
As for the war, et al. We can do this and the other. It is not that much money so quit yer griping. This is a public facility that the team will fund 33% or so and that is generous on their part as they will only use it for 81 days out of the year which is less than 25% of the days in the year. |

I haven't talked to anyone yet who is in favor of the new stadium. I'd rather keep the Rays at the Trop; I like watching a game in 72 degree air conditioned comfort without sweating under the hot sun and high humidity or worried how a Florida summer thunderstorm would delay or postpone a game. I like being able to park at the ballpark rather than being shuttled to and from my car parked several blocks away. Spend the money getting good, quality players and you'll be rewarded with a world championship!!!

Please tell the widows and families who are loosing their homes it isn't that much money. It would be the same as going to a homeless person and asking for a sandwich. No, it isn't much, but it's more than he or she can part with and you don't need it. I stand by my post. |

Go to www.stpetepowww.com and decide for yourself if it is "morally wrong" to push this new stadium!
People can hardly make their mortgages and now they want to up the taxes, yeah, that's wrong. People have to decide food or gas with their paychecks and "someone" wants them to pay for a new stadium. WRONG. They can not fill the current stadium, will 16 blocks east make people come to more games? Does an open air stadium make any sense in Florida? It is my OPINION that people need to think for themselves and hopefully they will use some common sense. |

I'm sorry they can not even fill the seats at the trop so why are they going to build something bigger and outside? This is FL! It rains when the sun is out!
Look at the way prices of everything is going up as it is. Oh we don't need to buy gas or food this month were going to support our local baseball team. Please! Just because it's outside? That's what Raymond James is for. Even sitting watching a game out there is crazy with our heat. I'm sorry I can find better ways to spend my money then on some baseball team. Yes, I do watch baseball and enjoy the sport but this is just crazy. Look at all the other events just outside of baseball at the trop? Where are they going to go to? Deff not outside.. They need to re-evaulate. |

The money needed would be better put into our schools.Nothing wrong with the Trop.

The new stadium is going to happen and St. Pete will be better because of it!

I cant even to afford to pay attention given the state of our economy. I can not think of a lower priority than to go and see a bunch of over paid athletes pay a ball game in a needless brand new stadium. In my opinion baseball is soooooo boreing anyway.

What is wrong with the current stadium?
It seems morally wrong to waste money on a brand new baseball stadium when the homeless in our county sleep in tents. Not to mention that our schools would certainley benefit from additional funding. Also I recently heard on the news that services to disabled people are being cut state wide. I don't want to pay for this new stadium. I would prefer to spend my tax dollars helping people. There are so many children, disabled, elderly and homeless people and families in our community that really need help. Pinellas County should be an example to other counties and use our penny tax to help people instead of building a brand new stadium that we DO NOT need! Is baseball more important to us than the people in our community? People will always be more important to me than baseball could ever be. |

Ok let's say the good people do approve the new staduim vote.Invite the designer's of that new open air stadium to a picnic ,August or September, and then let them tell you how the million dollar players and our fans are going to put up with that kind of weather.
