It's not only a matter of helping the police catch a crook though. Sometimes punks are surprised to find someone in a house and they make a tragic bad decision. What do neighbors say then -- Oops I shoulda called?

I hope they come to my house. I'll be waiting behind my door with my gun. Maybe after one of them loses a life in their line of work, they'll stop.

Coming and breaking into my house while I am home would itself be a tragic, bad decision. If I am home and someone is breaking in, I am assuming they are going to inflict great bodily harm or death on me when they realize I am home.

Familes with pets that use doggie doors may want to think about removeing them. We had one and figured we were safe because we have the house armed. yeah right, the lil crooks came in thru the doggie door- fed the dogs some treats and proceeded to ransack and make a pile of things to take out the doggie door with them. The crook thought he was home free until he opened the inside door to the garage and got the crap scared outta him when the alarm went off. TG he didn't get more stuff. As it turned out he only got 13 bucks from a nightstand, we're figuring that he exited the same way he came in. th police did come to the house when the alarm company called them, but by then whoever it was had run for the hills. It had to be a smaller person smart enough to know he would fit thru the opening. We removed the doggies door that same night. the police never did contact us about whether they found the thief or not.
Now I have a gun- they better give second thoughts before entering my home again!!!!!!!!!!

"One neighbor observed a subject come up wearing a black hoodie and used a prybar to open the door," and did not call police.

Sounds like this neighbor need a lesson in civic responsibilities. Condoning this type of behavior is criminal and appropriate actions should be take against these people.

Sounds like the "No Snitching Rule" is biting people in the rear. The "No Snitch rule" actually means------> as long as I am not the on getting robbed, I do not care about what happens to my neighbor.

and in St Pete they wouldn't catch them even if someone call. I was being attacked in St. Pete, I had 2 calls to 911 they heard be being attacked and the person trying to kill me and my neighbor called it took them 45 mins to get to my house. In St Pete they wait till the danger is gone before they show up. Hopefully nobody will get hurt. It isn't just the NO SNITCH RULE, its that the police would rather let the citizins take the beating, or whatever the criminal has for them before they show up Hopefully St PEte Police will wake up before something horrible happens to some one. OH wait it already has, wish I could sell my house so I could get out of this town. Sorry for the typos to the typing critics out there lol

Wow great neighbors, looks like its time to move out of that neighborhood, god forbid you are yelling for help, they might just grab some popcorn and sit out in front of your home and watch the incident unfold. Charge the neighbors with accessory

Yep same thing happened to us. Our neighbor saw the crooks coming out our front door and she went inside, never "saw" anything nor did she call the police. She does not want to get involved. Go figure. One other neighbor got a description of the car, but so far they have not been caught.

Come into my neighbor hood and try robbing a neighbors house and the thief would end up being like a target in our local shooting range. We take care of one another in my neighbor hood and if you mess with one your messing with everyone. Hell, we all know each other as neighbors as well as friends. It sad to think that people have lived next door to someone that would not help then as a neighbor.

Lets see, good paycheck, healthcare, housing subsidy, take home city patrol cars and all the 'off duty assignments' you can handle for local bar and hotel operators. Leadership is wishful thinking & a 'citizens are the enemy attitude."
It's every one for themselves in this gang and the taxpayers are a just a meal ticket. The only criminal activists arrested in this town are either ratted out or turn themselves in. & it's the taxpayers fault for not carrying out the police forces primary purpose. I get out of the way when I see one of these characters in my view. I'd be afraid to ask one of them for the time of day.
Just another 'Great Day in St Petersburg" Keep up the great work, & lets get that stadium mess cleared up and built while the citizens remain clueless as to what's really going on in this burg.
What a joke

My home was burglarized on monday, 6-9-08, and a neighbor witnessed for an hour a guy who they saw jump my fence and then walk around the house checking to see if windows were unlocked. After the theif noticed all windows and doors were locked they preceeded to enter my screened patio and kick in my door. Once they completed ramshacking my house and stealing every thing they could (stuffed two big duffel bags) they headed back to the fence, threw the bags over and left. The neighbor THEN called in the crime and gave an account of all that took place. The neighbor knew exactly were the robber hung out and gave this info to the cops. She even directed me to the house the theif was standing in front of and I immediately called the Police department to pick this guy up!! Gave them a vivid description of the theif and an hour later they called me back and asked if the shirt in my description was collard and/or polo styled and wanted to know all the colors actually in the plaid shorts!!! This is now Wednesday and no word on his capture!!
