His name is Obama, but we should call him Kerry, King of the Flip-Flop Candidates. |

He'll say or do anything to get to be the Prez. One day he's liberal, one-day he's all the way to left, or all the way to right, or he's white or he's black, or he's just FULL of it really.

^#^#Pelosi firm: No vote on offshore drilling
By Susan Page, USA TODAY August 4, 2008 WASHINGTON — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday ruled out a vote on new offshore oil drilling even as Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said he might be open to a compromise that included it. The scramble over expanded drilling off America's coasts — ammunition for a weekend of rat-a-tat-tat by the presidential campaigns — underscores the political power of $4-a-gallon gas. Though President Bush and other backers of new drilling acknowledge it wouldn't directly affect gas prices for years, they have pounded Democrats for opposing the measure, which is now supported by most Americans. Obama is scheduled to deliver a speech today in Lansing, Mich., on energy policy, unveiling what spokesman Bill Burton called "new short-term and long-term solutions to the energy crisis that we're facing." On Tuesday, presumptive Republican nominee John McCain is scheduled to go to the Enrico Fermi nuclear power plant in Newport, Mich., to spotlight his proposal for more nuclear plants. The latest furor over energy policy began when Obama, campaigning in Florida on Saturday, spoke favorably of a Senate plan that includes new offshore drilling, a step he has long opposed. .......The House started a five-week summer recess Friday despite Republican demands for a vote on lifting the federal ban on offshore drilling. House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio said GOP representatives would be on the House floor today to protest the lack of action." *gasp* You mean, it isn't a priority of the Democrats after all? I'm shocked. Thanks for the link....:-) |

Offshore drilling a short-term solution at best.
McCain used to support environmentalism but has recently flip-flopped on that issue, just like he did on torture, to get in line with the Republican't base. Neither candidate has any sort of long-term energy plan. They can't afford to. The oil and car companes contribute too much to both campaigns. Just be sure to sell your water-front property before it becomes underwater property in the not-too-distant future. |

About that under water property thang that is being so heavily promoted by global warming activists. How many will be owning under water property and chronically flooded property? What are these owners suppose to do with this under water flooded property? If seawater levels are expected to rise why build anything along water fronts that are going to be under water or constantly flooded properties? Like SW Washington DC's new water front project or SE's new soccer stadium which lies next to the Anocastia River banks and surely will be chronically flooded if not under water soon? Really confused why anyone would build next to water if the water levels are expected to rise and expect others to actually purchase such property that is going to be at least chronically flooded soon enough. Perhaps all the new construction next to the water front is an indicater that there is no such threat expected and the global warming issue is over stated and the fear and threat of global warming is not such a big deal after all. Again why spend monies and resources on water front places that are suppose to be under water soon like the water front in SW and the Anocostia Park where the new soccer stadium is being built. Even Georgetown lies next to the Potomac river and will surely be flooded with rising waters and sea levels. Very confusing in deed. |
