Stillwater police officer dies after suffering rare illness

So Sad! This story just brought tears to my eyes instantly! I feel so bad for this young family! May Officer Brienne Heroux rest in peace and may her husband and baby son know the comfort and peace of their loved ones, friends and fellow peace officers during this most difficult time. My sympathies to her husband Andy and baby Leland. Another fine peace officer from our great state to tragically loose her life recently. May she rest in peace, and god bless! And let's never forget our police officers and soldiers!

I read this on Kare11.com also, how sad she never got to know her baby, and how sad for him that he will never know his mother. Rest in Peace Officer Heroux.

I am so happy to see all who are so caring and have taken time out their day to say some nice things and pray for this family. I actually went to school with Bri and while I didn't know her personally, I was friends with someone that she grew up with and was considered family....Mr. Ron Ryan Jr....You sir are an arrogant jerk who doesn't even deserve to have your post seen on here. If you have an issue with it, take it up with the police department themselves...do not vent it out here where her family and friends can read this....for all you know they may be saving all of these messages and possibly one day her son will read them. I can only say to you sir that I pray that when it is your time to go that you have as many loved ones surrounding you, if not, than you will obviously know why.

I worked for the SPPD for a few years and knew Andy Heroux. He is one of the nicest officers on that department. My heart goes out to him on the loss of his wife.

Bri Heroux just happened to pick a profession that tends to honor their dead. I'm sorry that whomever you work for, or your family doesn't do the same for you, but you made the choice in life to be a troll. While you sit at your desk at work reading the paper on company time, sipping coffee from the company pot, waisting company time, think long and hard if a couple gallons of gas to escort a good cop's body back home is worth being a dink about.

Before you make your posts on how cops suck or how this was a waste of taxpayer money- turn your attention to the time & money you or your employer waste every day on trivial things.

I work for a large private company in the Twin Cities area. In 2003, my wife was killed when she was hit by a drunk driver as she jogged along a road whiel we vacationed on the east coast. I notified my company as I would not be back to work as scheduled.

You--almost undoubtedly--helped pay for this as well as you likely use this company on an almost daily basis.

Companies that do kindnesses for their employees who are grieving foster better employees, even more dedicated to their jobs. In the end, it makes good business sense.

I don't recall anyone telling my company that taking care of their employees was a bad business decision. Given the relative importance of police officers in my life, I am glad that the police leaders who authorized this fine young woman's colleagues to escort her had the foresight to treat their employees well. I am confident that those employees will be even more dedicated to their important jobs.

Thank you, police leaders for having the courage to do right by your employees.

Andy, I just wanted to say I am so sorry for your loss. We happend to be in the St Johns NICU the night your wife delievered visiting our baby girl.
Im so sorry your story had to end like this.
