It's sad, this is a family trying to come to grips and I sympathize with them. Since they said prescription drugs only "played a role" and that he wasn't a "habitual" drug user, it kind of sounds like he decided to get high and had an interaction. I wonder how anyone really knows how often he used? Maybe he had more problems going on in his life than any of these people knew about. It's sad to see a talented young person's life claimed by something so much less than what they are.

so, this guy died of a drug overdose, due to drugs the average person couldn't get. opium. yet it was accidental? right. Take responsibility. he took drugs, and it ended up killing him. Plain and simple.

" Jimmy " Before you make a statement as strong as the one you posted you should research your facts. Opiates, such as morphine, produce metabolites when they are broken down within the body. These metabolites can build up in the body and cause symptoms of opiate toxicity. Opiate toxicity is essentially an overdose of an opiate leading to poisonous levels in the body and causes symptoms such as restlessness, hallucinations, tremors and lethargy. People use morphine for all kinds of pain. You should take responsibility for making a false statement. Plain and simple.

I Never heard of the guy until the big "Minnesota Connection" hype and media blitz of his death. A legacy is a body of work not a body. Parents often think that their adult children are something bigger and better. In this case here is a local guy who had a few performances, videos on youtube and now that is touted as a legacy. A legacy is an artist who gives to the communtiy by action and not just w-o-r-rd-s. He was not a role model and the legacy statement is grandiose and annoying. The reality is he was a struggling artist in pain. A leagcy is something positive & inspiring; this is not that story.

Denial wrote: Own up- your kid was a junkie. In every photo I saw of him it was obvious. The lifeless eyes, greasy hair, and general Opiate FACE. I loathe the sugar cated mentality of the HOT DISH GENERATION. It is embarassing, but it would be more help helpful and less selfish if your family admitted the truth. More lives would be saved. The Ostrich approach never worked did it? wtf is a hot dish generation?

Momma Larsen- shame on you. Eyedea & Abilities - "Junk" is clearly a video and song refering to opiate use. It is painful obvious by his face and teeth. But your son's song JUNK & video would lead Capt.Obvious right to the track marks. Woman up and help other parents who's sons & daughters have substance issues. And the Hot Dish Generation is a term for Mid-West parents that refuse to believe that Mikey really spilled his milk. DENIAL at all costs, not to look bad in the eyes of others. rIGHT UP TO THE END.

I can not believe these posts. A young man has died, his family is grieving. Please be considerate, don't go attacking people when they are at the lowest part of their lives.

He was extremely talented, and creative. Fuck you people that are saying negative things, get a life. It was an accident regardless of the situation, and it was tragic. He was amazing, and never even saw his full potential. Even so...he outshined Slug and Sage many many times. Don't be ignorant...stop writing bullshit on here

Ready to speak further? He ain't all that, as though he's so famous we all can't sleep until we know exactly what happened. Yes, I feel bad for his family but how is he any more " special " than any other kid his age who has overdosed? I believe he probably wasn't a habitual user or addict and it was accidental but that doesn't mean you have to make sure everyone in the city knows that. Again I'm sorry for your loss but let the subject and your son rest in peace.

Seriously who is this guy? I never heard of him prior to his death, I still don't know who he is. Heck I don't even know how to pronounce his name.

Plain and simple. "opiate toxicity" would include something like 20 naturally-occurring "schedule" drugs derived from opium, as well as dozens of synthetic molecules of similar utility. using that phrase in the autopsy results clarifies nothing, implies anything that anybody wants to believe, and is IMPHO indefensible. probably meant to reduce proximate damage/insult to the rest of the family, but it exaggerates it, like putting XXXXXXX in a document to hide a middle-impact cussword. you KNOW everybody fills in the blank with whatever they want to lay on that person, right? just about every "expletive deleted" in the Nixon history was filled in with worse in people's minds than Nixon actually used. that's the saddest part of this.

wow...what a shocker...a 20-something rock star dies...of an overdose of something. too bad soo sad. I guess his life of music, family and friends didnt mean as much to him as y'all profess he meant to you. now...who was he again??? Its funny how some of you "followers" of this crap wait on pins and needles wondering what could have befeld such a young..eehhh...artist. Hendrix, Morrison, Cobain, Presley, etc, etc...the list just gets bigger. The only difference is that these 4 musicians were actually talented enough for those outside MPLS/St. Paul to have heard of 'em. Anyways, since no one really "deserves" to die unless one is on death row, thoughts go out to the family.
