This is unfortunate for the students and staff of Maxfield t but maybe a blessing for them. I hope Maxfield finds a leader that is there for the students and staff not self.

Of course it is a "blessing". Having a crazy person
as a principal of a school is dangerous. This nutcase
needed to go a long time ago. Ask the staff at Anoka-Hennepin, they were so happy to see her go. They laughed their heads off when St. Paul hired her.

I had heard the Maxfield principal was forced-out. What can you believe, though, until something come down the pipe-line? You hear a lot of things about SPPS lately.

Yeah, especially about the superintendent position. I hope this new one does not pull a Carstarphen in a few years. I have heard that she is difficult and has a bad temper though.

She's lived her for sometime, though ... I dunno ... we seem to be on some special list now, among America's "switchable super-superindendent" cities if you get me drift.

Meria? The Austin ISD tried a run-around scant days ago in order to grant her a BONUS ... ALREADY ... for raising school performances that she had nothing to do with. Here's a link:

What a racket!

That's from the Austin American-Statesman, too, not some idiotic, extremist from either side blog.

Why the cover-up? What are the St. Paul Public Schools administrators
hiding? Something is very suspect about this whole thing. School districts
just don't have a principal at a school and by the end of the day she's gone. Don't the parents deserve to know the truth? Don't the teachers
deserve to know the truth? Aren't these tax dollars from the St. Paul Community? Doesn't the community deserve to know who is serving
their schools and why such a person is put on a leave? Who is this principal's boss and why doesn't that person step up to the plate
give some answers? Or is that person corrupt too? The children, families,
teachers and St. Paul community members deserve more respect than this.

Maybe they are too busy congratulating themselves for picking a new super they knew would be made super months ago. I don't know what the heck is going on down there but I sure do agree with you: the lack of candor lately is unbecoming.

I agree that the exit of Ms. Green is a blessing for the children, families and staff at Maxfield. They deserve much better than what they have endured with the incompetant Ms. Green "in charge." Nearly 30 staff members were either forced out or left willingly by the end of last school year -- this is not by any means in the best interests of the children, community, or remaining staff. Employees were constantly ridiculed and bullied, and parents were not respected. Keep on asking questions, you deserve truthful answers.

What!!! 30 staff members left the school at the end of the school year and administration allowed this principal to return??? Didn't they wonder why 30 people left the school? That is called a red flag!!! This is discouraging. Who is sitting up in the ivory tower
while these schools are failing and teachers are running from a bully? Don't school board members and top administrations listen to
the people that are actually in the schools everyday? Or doesn't any bring up concerns because they are scared. Something is terribly wrong.

I get the distinct impression that the folks in the ivory tower think they know what's best for the educational community vs the community-at-large, and, frankly, I'm growing tired of that attitude.

Who do they think pays the bills??

If they did really listen, SPPS wouldn't be in the situation they are... so many at 360 have been out of the classroom for so long, they've lost touch with reality. Ask a teacher how much (unnecessarily) harder admin. has made our job in the last 10 years and you'll get an ear full. For all the extra work they think we need to do, we haven't seen an appreciable increase in test scores have we? SPPS is notorious for latching onto the next best thing in educational philosophy (and spending your money on it)and as soon as something "better" comes along... we're forced to change what we know CAN work. Yuk... We're not scared, just tired of not being listened too... I'd rather focus on my kids than fight THAT loosing battle. I've taught in SPPS for 18 years, and I'm getting really tired of it. Just let us teach and hire administrators who can work with people and effectively problem solve. There aren't many out there from what I've heard... BUT PLEASE HAVE FAITH IN YOUR TEACHERS... MOST OF US WORK REALLY HARD AND LOVE THESE KIDS!

Thank you ALL for caring as much as you do, and let's see if we cannot change the situation.
1. We need to get the voters back in the equation.
2. Not everyone at 360 is a big nasty meany ... we need to get them back in a helpul, assisting mode rather than a dictatorial, adversarial role.

You said it all! She was not a people-person and didn't know s#%t about our kids or the community. Come on 360 let's get it together. Freeman do your job

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Gemini

Do a little lateral thinking today and it will work wonders. Don't feel hidebound because you're supposed to do things in a certain way, because this is a great opportunity to try a different approach for a change. Even so, you may have to play down your unorthodox technique when talking to anyone who sticks rigidly to convention.
