LandMar closer to redeveloping St. Marys paper mill

I thought Landmar was pulling out of the deal. They want nothing to do with the paper mill property.

If you will read the full story, it is dated Sept, 2006. DUH

DUH, they are not building condos or anything at the mill site. No one knows what the property will be used for or if it will ever be developed with any kind of business or residence. It is dead in the water. It looks like retirees don't think Camden is such a good place to retire. Houses in foreclosure, houses built and no buyers.

Who the hell wants to move here? Double homicides on the rise, home owners are being taxed out of their homes, real estate prices are falling, Crooked Sheriff, subdivisions are going up everywhere depressing existing home sales, crime is up, traffic is backing up on all streets, there ain't a dam good reataurant, gas stations are ripping off their customers, foreclosures are up, etc... Did I miss anything? Sounds like this town of backwards ass southeners got themselves one hot mess here in paradise. Leave it to a bunch of hicks to screw things up, just imagine how backwards this town would be if it weren't for the military infusion of cash and intelligence! Woodbine/Folkston!

You can probably find these things going on in many small town communities up North. I'm proud to be an American and a hick from South Georgia but I am not a backwards ass southerner. Probably a lot of our problems is that the people here have elected and given jobs to too many Yankee's who think they know everything. They can't keep things straight up North so they move here and screw up our Southern life style. Yep, Carpetbaggers are what we call them. LOL

You will notice that we are not in line to move up north with you intelligent yankees. We were doing just fine down here and certainly didn't send out invitations for you loudmouths to come down and tell us "How It Is Done Up North". And if truth be told the most of you moved down here because you could no longer afford to pay taxes on your homes in frozen paradise..so packup that carpetbag and catch a greydog out of town!!

Firstly, I am not a yankee, but I know some that have moved here, great people, they moved here because they can, its a free country. Sorry if I offended some of you, and these folks did not pollute anything, the land is still up there, unpolluted and not cheap.

If he had put his priorities at Gilman Paper Co and not White Oak, Gilman Paper Co would still be going strong. He and his family could care less about the people of Camden. He was taking money that needed to go to repairs and upgrading at Gilman Paper and putting the money into White Oak. Sissy Man liked celebrities and wanted White Oak to attract them there. I don't think he even cared about the animals. The way he did his employees proves he would mistreat an innocent animal too. land mar has not pulled out. like everyone else in the business they have scaled down the operation. work on clean up goes on, but at a snails pace. thank god we voted tad down. we would be paying debt service on 15 million dollars of bonding in addition to paying for an administrative staff. give yourself a hand fir the negative vote on the referendum.

We maybe southerners (which we are proud to be)but you sound like the ignorant one. Camden is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation let alone GA so that should speak for itself. Futhermore, use your spell check before posting a comment. Proud to be from Camden County GA!!!!
