Thanks for the tribute to some amazing builders. I lived in the west for years, and the eclectic mix of architecture was always fun to see.

What a readable piece by Ms. Klein. I've only seen a few of the places of which she writes, but her descriptive language made me feel as though I was along for her trip. She very adeptly wove into her story religious, historial, architectural, and cultural information.

I am totally impressed with this article, Ms. Klein. I am LDS, was born and raised in Salt Lake City, and moved to Columbus two years ago. I often field alot of questions about the LDS Church, and now I have a credible local "outsider" from which they can read facts and insights. Very well-researched, very well-written. Thank you for highlighting such a richly-historical portion of the intermountain west.

Thanks for a historical article with no real hidden agenda. It is rare to see and a pleasure to read. Having seen most of the sites am am grateful to see you share them with the rest of the country.

I agree with the former comments that this was a well written and worthwile article. I am a "Utah Mormon" with a rich pioneer heritage. It is so nice that you took the time to travel the distance to see all of these great historic sites and then describe them to your readers. It would have been challenging to edit all of the fascinating information received at any one of these locations. I hope that your article sparks interest for readers to come and visit beautiful Utah, and take tours of these unique and valuable historic sites.

What a lovely, leisurely read about things dear to my heart. I'm a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have rarely read such an unselfish piece about our people, places, and history--thank you!

When did "church" stop meaning the congregation? What an assinine waste of money. Are there locks on the doos to keep people out? Do you think God is impressed?

Yep. Kind of makes me wonder if all the World's Honor and Glory Palaces aren't really just empty boxes.

That's the statue that has his back to the temple & his open palm up toward the bank. For real. Pure idolatry or what? Supposedly God Will Not Let You Keep Idols, but carry on as you will.

Well, I mean if you want to talk about a gay man having a "solid" rod and wanting to place it in a "sacred" place, then we could turn it into one.

Does anyone want to play football? I'll be the tight end!

Do you think any gays help build the temple?

How is this "news"? You mean there isn't any real news that could of been written about?

i doubt any gays helped build the temple, but i wonder if some of all those wives might have had an Adam's apple.

Pull your head from your nether region and check a calendar. June 28th was a Sunday and this article was part of the Dispatch Travel section. Nothing worse than a fat, angry AND clueless lesbian.

OOPS! I guess it's ok in the travel section. As for the rest of your silly comments, I would say "sticks and stones". I definitely think you are projecting some deep seated insecurities though. Are you FAT? Are you ANGRY? Are you a LESBIAN?(MR. know-nothing ) "Clueless" is kinda insulting. Oh, I am so hurt...NOT!
What's your problem you are so off topic.... Now I am!
