Police harrassament in Florence, Alabama

I can't belive nothing can be done about the conditons of the police harrassament in florence. They will pull you over all the time trying to catch you doing something wrong. I really don't think there smart enough to catch the real criminals so they try to create one. I would not advise anyone to move to this area, its really really bad here.

Yeah I know the florence police department hate gays and blacks alot. If you ever go to the park they will harrass you all day and you haven't even done anything wrong. Living in florence alabama is sorta like living in a very controlled town any and everthing you do must have permission from the police to do it. I feel like calling them and asking if it is ok to go to wal-mart.

Yes i plan on moving out of this area as soon as I can I don't want to raise my children around all this. It is really bad they hate teenagers too.

I bet it's not the store owners!!!! Clean up ,talk less and get good jobs in our area!!!!lots of Luck ,T. ps ,I am always picking up a piece of garbage off the street or sidewalk ,and the funny thing is ,A trash can is always nearby,lets quit being Slobs..

Sounds like you like him. Maybe you get checked for herpes. That is some real news. And if the young folks there could stop sniffing shit up their noses and puffin the magic dragon then maybe there would be some real jobs. Take your own advice and get a life.

police harassment....mmmmmmm, can't go to the park...mmmmmmm, maybe it is what you are doing in the park that gets the attention of the police. Just maybe you need to get a room! or better yet, as some have said.....go ahead and leave town!

I think I am close to normnal, but normal in Decatur is not the same in Florence. The FPD officers are overzealous when it comes to high school and UNA students, gays, blacks and anyone they recognize from previous stops. You don't have to be doing anything wrong, but if you fit into one of those classes, you will likely be prosecuted for something whether you did it or not! There are just too many cases to attest to this. Of course, it does depend on who your parents are in the community that determines the punishment. There are also a bunch of do-gooders! Normal is not normal in Florence!

I have lost all trust and faith in law enforcement after I became a victim of robbery and burglary in nashville,tn. My home was burglarized and the reporting police officers said there was nothing they could do. I was robbed while a police officer observed what was happening. This was what I got for the tax dollars I paid?

Yes, the Florence P.D. is out to get your cash. Florence has had a lack of tax dollars coming in, due to factory closing's in the area. Speeder's are the prime target, the good ole boys or C.H.I.P.S, COPS ON CYCLES are out there for your cash.

i agree with all that has been said. However i think the problem with Florence's "money hungry cops" is simply a result of a lack of funds turning into harrassment. I think that the root of all of this is to not argue any of the facts when the ultimate solution is finding the money to support out institutions elsewhere. "when one focuses on the argument, one is at a loss for the answer."

The whole state of Alabama sucks a big fat one, especially Florence!!!! The cops are dirty and uneducated. Alabama is ranked 47Th out of 50 in education. Does that not tell America what kind of idiots come from there. Alabama's family tree has only a straight line and no branches

No one who is God fearing can accept gay people and expect to go to heaven. THAT IS A FACT. However you have to realize that all black folks play the "race card" at every opportunity they get and expect to be overlooked for the crime that they commit. Black people talk so tough but when it comes down to it they can only operate in groups or gangs and still CRY about everything like a bunch of little girls!

I appreciate the Florence Police Officers tremendously. Every day they are putting their very lives on the line when they confront people who are in violation of the law or whom they believe represent a danger. I say give these fine law enforcers a RAISE!

Frank, the only people that are paranoid are the people I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. If that's you, then by all means - MOVE.
