Is it really a benefit to the city of St. Cloud to have their mayor fly to eastern Europe for what seems to be nothing more than a popularity contest? I doubt St. Cloud's ranking will bring in much economic activity. Who paid for the trip?

"Mayor Dave Kleis traveled to the Czech city of Pilsen to make a case for St. Cloud" - I'm glad my taxes aren't paying for an overseas trip to try to win some imaginary award...

You are correct. Obama can be blamed for so many other things we should pass this one on someone else.

I know Dave Kleis has paid for his own way previously, and yes, he paid for it himself this time again:

Yes, Dave Kleis is a good, solid Republican. No, Incredible70, your taxes (are you a St. Paul resident?) certainly aren't going toward Kleis' overseas trip. They may, however, be going toward some of Chris Coleman's trips.

but they are.... Obama will fly to pick up his Nobel Prize and that's pretty imaginary.
Say, I heard he won the Heismen Trophy for watching a football game on TV.

Before the day is over, I'm sure some one will find a way to blame our immigrant population for St Cloud's loss--you know, the brothas from Chicago, the terrorists from Somalia, the illegals from Mexico, and the lazy people from ACORN. As long as the white guy doesn't take the blame, we're all good...we're all good.

If you don't think anyone other than whitey is to blame for this sudden change, you're not interested in facts - you're only interest lies in a silly cause that tries to hide the ugly truth, rather than improve the situation.

Reading the posts from time time in this and other papers make me think the main danger facing the good 'ol U.S.A. is really from white conservative guys in their basements.

You hit the nail on the head. It IS the fault of the Somalis, gangsters and the rest of the trash that was imported to St. Cloud.

St Cloud is a nice place to visit and that is it. Have you ever driven in St Cloud. It is a nightmare. It is always a traffic jam, no matter what time of day.

Someone must have figured out that St Cloud (at least some of it) is in Stearns County. That should have been enough to take it out of the running.

Are you sure you didn't drive the wrong way on 94? Chicago may be like that...not St. Cloud.

So St. Cloud is also getting more "affordable housing", halfway homes, rentals, and crime problems like here in the dumpy Twin Cities? We just need more taxation, job loss, and drug rehab shelters to solve all the problems. You know, the MN 'nice' liberal way.

Good to know. Too bad it blew up in his face. And no, I wouldn't live in either of the welfare capitals of Minnesota, thank you very much.
