So, I wonder what the real reason the CM resigned. What would have been so bad as to attempt suicide.

Hmm. I wonder. Maybe he was just too sensitive to be working with all the back-stabbing politics city office tends to bring and how the public can oftentimes be so petty and ignorant.

And let's see. Not a lot of cities flush with cash right now, so not many job prospects. And a baby on the way? Lots of pressure on a guy.

I am sorry that Mr. Hughes felt it was necessary to shoot himself. I do not want to see anyone harmed. In the C & G News the mayor states that Mr. Hughes left as he wanted to go in another direction and that Mr. Hughes was the only one leaving. Kip also states that we have good department heads- that is not true. The Community Development Dept does not have good Dept heads. Mr. Hughes took the brunt of the fall out for many things but the Community Development Dept heads and the 2 council persons should also share in this mess. That is wrong and it is shameful!

Yeah, he wanted to go on a different direction, alright. So an employee is planning something like this, so when they resign, the mayor and council just unanimously say adios. Well they failed to recognize any of the signs and they're just plain stupid!

Why would he resign and then attempt it? If he knew he was at the end of the line why wait? Is there more to this story? Maybe we will never know.

It's simple. Had he not shot himself the whole story of him resigning would have gone away quietly. Not even the media would be interested in finding out the real reason for his resigning. However, now that he shot himself in a suicide attempt the media will take great interest. So in an effort to keep the media away from city employees, who could spill the beans, the decision was made to close all city buildings that the public are normally allowed to access. I would imagine that the buildings will remain closed until a formal statement is made to the media by the mayor. But even then the media will still be looking for any comment they can get from the employees. Just like a shark that smells blood in the water, the media will keep looking for the source.

Had he been successful that would have pretty much wrapped it up dont you think? Suicide voids insurance payouts and leaves his wife with little or nothing. Not what I call wrapping up your affairs.

Hey numb nuts. Did you ever stop and think that the reason the doors were closed for a few hours was to give employees time to find out what happened and to process the situation before going on with daily life? This guy was thier boss, worked daily with them and oerall, was liked very well. Now employees come in to work this morning to find a tragedy has happened.

Spill the beans is laughable ever for you Jack!!

I'm sure you'll find out as the investigation furthers that Mr. Hughes took it on the chin from Mr. Mike Smith also thru the way of Mt. Clemens, as well as the Company doing our rat abatement. SCS folks don't realize this city is run by a vicious, vicious circle with only one person at the helm with several avenues, we need an Federal investigation like I stated when Dumas was caught up with. A federal Grand Jury would bring all these back room deals to a head, along with SCS they should also take apart a "Certain" office in Mt. Clemens, this I'm sure would uncover all our main concerns and problems.

It's time for Downey to crawl out of his booze hole and make stupid remarks. Maybe the neighborhood patrol with the nun and paramedic should open an investigation!!

How do you take a shotgun into the woods for the purpose of killing yourself, and come out shot in the shoulder? Painful, yes. But if you flinched or misfired, you would fire again and get the job done. This story as reported is a bunch of gobbeldy-gook.

Maybe a change of heart after the first round. I imagine it might be a tad painful. What do you think happened Mr.Gay?
