How coincidental. This happens to African-American at a Culpeppers yesterday morning. Two CAUCASIAN-AMERICANS, were carjacked last night by African-Americans at a Culpeppers in St. Charles. Hmmmm....makes one stop and think. Gonna rush my paperwork through for my CCW permit.

Remember the woman who found a finger in the Wendy's chili. It ended up being one of her friends fingers never came from Wendy's.

Its not surprising. The St Louis and Metro east area are famous for this kind of behaviour. Just a few weeks ago I called the Collinsville P.D because i had a woman in MY yard during a yard sale threatning me and they refused to arrest her because she was white! The Collinsville P.D officer told me i could be arrested because i pushed her when she lunged at me to defend myself. DID I MENTION I WAS IN MY YARD! Denise All i can say is Welcome to ST. Louis the GATEWAY to the West!

Like we're going to believe that an employee in an upscale restaurant,is going to put a piece of metal in a bowl of soup ? Yeah right. Just another embellished story(lie),like the Wash.U jerks.

I ate at culpeppers only once and thought the food had to much pepper. I am glad I did not complain or they might have thought I put additional pepper on the food.

How do you know what anyone would do? It may be upscale but after all is a waitress so upscale? There are shows like Busted & Discusted on Fox reality channel that shows many people in the service industry doing all kinds of unthinkable activities to you and to your food! Get a clue! Why would this particular woman NEED to skip out on a soup check? You sound like a moronic Collinsville Cop or Better yet a CWE MORONIC COP!

"Upscale"???? Jimboray where have you been dining to call Culpeppers upscale? It's a bar and grill. It's most popular dish is hot wings. You need to get out more. I believe Ms. Thimes and Culpeppers will be boycotted by myself and my family. They assumed that this was a case of "another black person wanting a free meal." Preconceived ideas about race can cause you to do ugly things.

I was in the rest and this women is full of it. She was immediately irate, threatened to slap the #*$# out of the manager, and then threatened to kill her and her family. That is when the officer cuffed her. Ms. Thimes, was way out of line, and the officer was totally justified in what he did. She was absolutely ignorant to the staff. When you threaten someone and their family, you get what you deserve. Not to mention she repeatedly used the "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM???" phrase that is the epitamy of ignorance as far as I am concerned. This place is visited by athletes, actors, judges, and Elliot Davis himself, and I would bet that you couldn't find one of them that has anything bad to say about this place. Denise, if you would have acted like adult things probably would have ended differently. It just shows your true colors, when you try to portray this incident in a different light to the media. I wouldn't waste another dime on anything you ever do again.

I have news for you people. I was in the place when all of this went on. She was absolutely out of line. The manager was courtious and did not insinuate this. This "woman" made an absolute scene, and threatened the life and family of this manager. She repeatedly screamed "do you know who I am???" and even said that to the police officer. She should have been thrown out, and should have been arrested for the threats. I hope that this manager files charges towards her for the threats. This woman thinks she is above the law and it showed. BTW Nicole, you would be surprised at how many people who do not NEED to skip on a check do. Many famous people who come in to that place are catered to and still do not tip, or will just complain because they think they are somebody. If you weren't there, then you don't know. I was and Ms. Thimes was ignorant, rude, and deserved to be thrown in jail. I commend the manager for remaining calm the entire time. I know I couldn't have.

Culpeppers is not an upscale restaurant. Where have you been eating. It is a long standing bar and grill originating in CWE with several locations now. Conincidental or not, it could be highly possible given the age of the building and the mechanicals that over a period of time, heat, steam, rust may have caused the screw to become loose and fallen into the open pot from an above hood. Don't be so quick to judge. Denise, sing your heart out and we will see you on Nov. 3rd at the Sheldon.

While Culpeppers is not an "upscale" restaurant, the food is great and so is the atmosphere. I dine there regularly and, each time, have received awesome service. I personally know Denise and was not surprised to read the comment regarding her "Do you know who I am" phrase. She is one of the most arrogant and demeaning people I have ever had the DISpleasure of coming in contact with. I would not be surprised if there were a publicity stunt of some sort, it would be right up her alley. The epitomy of ignorance definitely suits Denise. Additionally, regardless of the situation, the was a more mature way of handling this situation. Imagine what this publicity is doing to her young children. This is completely absurd!

Denise
Sorry for your misfortunate ordeal there @ Culpeppers. Thanks for informing us on the treatment we're receiving from our CWE wing pub. Go on & entertain those Very Very important guest in Washington D.C. Pass it on to the right attorney. I hope a camera/cell phone was available as this was being presented to the waitress or waiter. I know a man that sits high & looks low that will handle this for you, if you can just hold your peace.
God Bless & enjoy your stay with those Very Very special guest.

If Denise says it happened, you can believe that it did! Here is yet another incident where a strong African American woman has been treated without respect. Ms. Thimes is an international jazz icon who has more than earned the respect of her fans and those who know her personally. The restaurant is covering their proverbial butts at the expense of the customer. Culpeppers, shame on you!

I wasn't there i go to that exact culpeppers at least twice a month never had a problem. MRS. thimes is a local nobody far as i am concerned , but if she had a screw in her soup she should complain , but no reason to become ignorant. You can't buy class unfortunately.

Looks like you don't have to go all the way to Chicago to be discriminated against at a restaurant. I can recall my dad telling me in the late 70's that 'there's lots of restaurants in St. Louis where they still won't serve you. I don't care if you get the FBI, the CIA or the FDA, they're not going to serve you.' My sister even told me that she felt very uncomfortable in a 'Hill' restaurant once while waiting to have lunch with Kim Tucci. She was so glad when he finally arrived. She said I never ever want to go there again. They did not make me feel welcome. I've had suspicions about that Culpeppers for several years now. I don't go there if I can help it.

I know just the attorneys -- Attorney Ted Williams is a FOX legal correspondent in D.C. who worked in St. Louis/KC in the 80's as a FED agent prior to law school. He flies in and out of here all the time. Also, Atty. Donald Williams, a SLU law grad is called "the Johnnie Cochran of KC" MO!!!! I meet his clients everywhere I go!!! Go get em' Denise!!!
