hmm... going for humor here? we better keep an eye out for the people who have to listen to you trying to be funny. It takes a depraved kind of person to say something so crass right after a tragedy. R.I.P Brandon, I never had the pleasure of meeting you but its evident that you were important to a lot of people.
You think this a GAME!

I had a close friend of mine take his own life with a shotgun 7 years ago and I'm still wondering WHY? He would have turned 34 yesterday on 4/20. My prayers are with the family and friends.

This is a true tradegy. My heart goes out to his Family and Friends. I did not know Brandon but my Brother-In-Law took his own live 1 1/2 years ago. It was devestating, no one seen it coming at all. He was 22yrs. So much live ahead, just like this young man. You always have the question of WHY or was there something I could of done. I personally think that they need to talk about this more in school with students. I am a parent and we do our best at raising our kids and being there for them. Again this is so sad. My prayers are with the family and friends.

I want to express my deepest condolences to the family of Brandon. I teach at LU but did not know him. Yet I feel that I do. I also have a son who has struggled with the darkest of depression for many years. I want the family to know that it's not your fault; you and his friends didn't see this coming because he didn't want you to. When living with deep depression, these folks have learned to put on a faux front in an attempt to keep the pain inside and not have it hurt the ones they love. It's impossible to know how deep it is and what they are planning unless they opt to communicate that. All too often, they do not.
It's truly a sad state and my heart goes out to him knowing the pain he suffered silently and to his family and friends who had no way of knowing that this was to happen. Whether it be by gun or pills or hanging or throwing oneself out a window, if they are determined, they will do this. We can only pray for others in the same condition and watch diligently for signs of serious depression in others and suggest that they get the help they need before it is too late.

Lindenwood university is a sham, the rules they implement there make the students feel as I'd they were in lock down at a prison. Curfews, no co ed activities, and stick policy on substance use. They are the villians here.
LU has their rules and regulations clearly written and is sent in the packet of information prior to your acceptance of attending this school. I am pleased to find a college willing to stand up for high morals and wholesome standards. Please remember that you have a choice where YOU attend college. Choose one that fits your needs.

R.I.P Brandon!!!! you will be missed
Anne I will too! I woke up to go to that class. I have never laughed so hard in my life! Brandon was the greatest person I know and made high school what it is. I will miss him ver much as I'm sure much of his friends will. He touched so many people and I wish he would have seen how special he really was. My prayers go to the Pyles family in their time of loss and I hope that they find peace of mind in all of this.

My prayers go out to his family. I not looking for a fight, but I have a family member that committed suicide. So I say this from experience that this act was selfish. I'm sure someone will comment back a regarding the fact that it is not fair to pass judgement. But I remember being upset that my brother never came to me to talk. People deal with things differently, but giving up is the ultimate slap in the face to those less fortunate.
Can' judge anyone who's in suicidal mode. There are things going on in their brain you couldn't know unless you've been there. I almost dies and it's not selfish. It's sometimes severe anger at a seemingly hopeless situation that triggers the attempt. It's difficult to reach out to others for fear of being a burden on them and if the "talk" doesn't do the trick the survivor would end up feeling guilty, so the suicidal person may be wanting to protect those close to him/her by keeping to themselves. Please do not judge someone in that situation.
