What the heck is going on? Dont those that beat this kid understand they now reside in Saint Peters!! We do not act like this. I hope the crime index does not start rising. Saint Peters is one of the most desired places to live. These acts will change that. Lets show our PRIDE!! Thank you to our Police for all you do!! Be safe watching our area.

How scary is this? I have three kids at home, 11 to 16, I am petrified about this happening so close, Sunday evening I saw the police combing our neighbor hood, I saw some people in a couple of cars, out of their cars on McClay, looking for something, I thought maybe it was a dog. I saw the police driving around and talking with people, I did not put two and two together, I just found out about this at work last night, I am really upset about this, what are these teens thinking?? And what about the 20 that was standing around watching?????? Here a Nurse what trying to help this victim who was seizing on the ground, and they were all yelling for him to get up, the woman was right in the line of fire! She should get some kind of reward or plack or something, what an angel. These kids this age all want respect, well then act like an adult that shows respect to others instead of violence. This is so upseting, I dont even live in the neighborhood it happened, but I am close enough, and I can only imagine what those neighbors are going through.

this is a taste of what happens when you live by blacks. i just moved out of north county myself recently. i lived there for many years and moved out here to get away from that crap. but unlike north county st peters seems to care about its residents and neighbors out here watch out for each other. be glad we have good cops out here who are willing to talk to the neighbors and to make sure your safe cus in north county they didnt care. st peters is still a great area! i hope those boys are made an example out of and im glad they were caught!

this is why i believe when you are faced with a fight between one or more people you are not sure what the outcome will be so if you get into a fight you are always faced with a life and death situation when i was in school two two different classmates were killed in fights one was punched once in the head in the school library he didnt know he had a brain tumor and died then a friend of mine at the time got into a fight that he didnt start but when he was attacked the two boys fell to the ground and the boy who started the fight broke his neck and died so anytime you are faced with having to defend yourself you could be in a life or death situation so these boywho atacked this kid and the one standing around cheering should all be charged with attempted murder and all should go to jail

I think before people put their comments on here they should understand the whole story. These boys are not monsters they are not some hoodlems. Two of them are dads and great dads at that! They would never do something like this if it wasnt necessary to protect themselves. I mean come on now who in their right mind would just randomly grab a bat and hit somebody in the head??? I dont know anyone who would do that nor would i associate with someone who would do something like that. They were surrounded by 20-30 people who were going to all fight them if they didnt react. Did you know that the so called "victim" has more charges including assault charges than all of these boys together? Did you know that the so called victim has went to other peoples house trying to start a fight? Did you know that the so called victim is up walking around as if nothing ever happened. did you know that he is not only threatning the life of the boys who did this but all of their family including their children whom of which are 3 months to 3 years they had nothing to do with this. So please get all the information before you start pointing fingers at whose to blame. I am in no way saying what they did was ok but they are by far monsters and they would never do something like this if they were not worried about their own safety. And also the so called victim started the attack by pulling out one of the boys and hitting him until he fell to the ground that is when the bats came out. They did not do this for no reason!

niki- what is say is a good point- but let's look at it. You call them boys- and say they are dads. That seems to be a problem. Boys shouldn't have kids. If a boy has a kid- great chance they are not the best dads possible.

Second- why did they have a bat in the first place? As for what the victim has- he may have charges, and that is not a good thing, but you also admit they have charges. Good boys do not have charges.

So, your personal agenda of defending these people whom you know really amounts to nothing- facts are facts and they are guilty of assault with a deadly weapon. Hopefully a couple years prison will solve their issue of bad decision making.

Niki, These are teenagers. First, If they have kids that is a shame. Where is the parenting for these kids. 2nd, Why are you going to have a bat!! So someone calls someome out. If you are going to have an argument you do so but not gang up on him. Then a neighbor comes out to help aid and cant because they are still attacking him. This may be okay in your area but not in ST. Peters. We do not live or think like that. Black or White... IT IS JUST NOT RIGHT!!!!!!!!

Why are you people calling these men boys? The news story indicates all were 18 or older.

The "victim" showed a gun and threatened to use it so they busted his skull with a bat.

Seems to me it is a stroke of luck we are not reading about a shooting.

The only thing missing from this is booze, add booze and it is standard issue street violence.

Story states: St. Peters Teen Beaten........

18. That is not a man. It is a tweener. A kid growing into the manhood. Yes you can vote and be in the service but that does not make a man. Maybe the service is where they need to go to act as they should.

All of my grandparents were married before 18.

We claim that folks today are smarter, but my grandfather who completed only the 8th grade used better English and math than 90 percent of the people posting on this board.

He worked as a body man, paid off his house, fed his kids, and no one ever applied for assistance or missed a meal.

At 18, not only legally are you responsible for yourself, you SHOULD darn good and well be taking care of yourself. I was/did and I think it has a lot to do with whee I am now which is flirting with 100k a year and a solid relationship that will last forever.

<quoted text>
When they threaten with a loaded pistol, you bet and it would be questionable if they had actually killed him since he threatened to shoot them and displayed a loaded gun.

This story is absolutely sickening. All I can say is that there is no need for this kind of violence. These boys should get the book throw at them. It doesn't matter who started the fight, and Ned_Reck as far as your comment about the victim flashing a gun is false. If you read up on the story you would have found one of the attackers were arrested for unlawful use of a weapon. If it was the victim with the "loaded pistol" he would not be walking around doing as he pleases because he would be the one in jail for unlaw use of a weapon.

If the victim started the fight with one of he boys, then why did the other three jump in?? Nothing makes what those four children did to him ok. Yes I called them children because no mature adult would act in this sort of manner. Nothing justifies beating someone with an aluminum baseball bat and yelling at someone to get up when they are seizing on the ground. What kind of animals do such an inhuman thing? They thought they were big and bad because they had a bat, but they are nothing but cowards because I think if you're going to fight someone at least use your own fists! I bet these 4 children thought they were big and bad, let's see how big and bad they really are when they do hard time and are in jail with real criminals.

Perhaps it is you who needs to read up on the story, it is plain and simple, what I said is TRUE according to the very link this thread stems from and nothing I said was false.

"According to police, Matthews got into an initial fight with Gibson. After the initial assault,Clapsill displayed a loaded .45 caliber handgun in an attempt to threaten the others at the scene. That is when police say Gibson got an aluminum baseball bat and struck the victim in the head. As Matthews lay injured on the ground, Parks struck Matthews at least two times with the bat in the torso."

See that right there, the "VICTIM" pulled a gun and that is why he got his butt kicked.

Oh ok, so someone pulls a gun on you so you run and get a baseball bat, yeah okay, sounds smart to me. Also unlawful use of a weapon can mean any type of weapon i.e. baseball bat. According to my son, who went to high school with these young adults, nothing is being said about him pulling out a gun on them.

I do not care what your son is telling you, it is right on the channel 2 news story that started this whole thread, can you not read?

And to answer your question, No if the idiot had pulled a gun on me he would have likely died where he fell after getting himself shot.

Really? Don't tell other people they need to read because you clearly can't yourself. Matthews was the victim so try reading that story again.

"Matthews got into an initial fight with Gibson. After the initial assault,Clapsill displayed a loaded .45 caliber handgun in an attempt to threaten the others at the scene."
Brandon C. Claspill, 18, of St. Peters is charged with Unlawful Use of A Weapon.
