Boni has long been a beautiful community. It would be nice to see some new businesses call it home but I'll miss the old Boni.
Look at Spring Park, for example. Nobody would argue that the Mist and Joan's Log Cabin were in need of facelifts but they were better than looking at the strip mall in the sky that's now there. Heck, they can't even sell the ugly things from what I hear.
I hope Boni never gets taken like those fools in Spring Park. Of course, Boni has smart elected officials. To Rockvam et al do not share the same distinction.

I agree, a nice restaurant would be a boon.
I need to get over to Boni for a lunch / beer.

I'd trade all three rat-hole bars for one, clean, bar/restaurant. (i.e. Applebee's-like, but not a chain.) It's high time to throw the riff-raff out of town.

St Boni is about the only town in MN that the tree huggers havent got to yet. If you dont like it go somewhere else. And you can still get a cold beer and a good pizza under 20 bucks.

I think there is definitely some resentment from the locals about all the new people coming in to this area. We're actually from Illinois and recently moved here because my parents liked the small town feel while still being close to the city. I agree about us needing a few less shady bars and a few more places to grab a bite, but yeah there is a Subway coming. As if there aren't enough Subways around here...

Agreed, on Subway, but it is nice to have one nearby. As for the bars, I think if they just cleaned up their act a bit, not only would people be more satisfied with their appearance, but they would also attract more business. As it sits, Grumpy's and Sherm's are just waiting for the rotting roofs to cave in. There's obviously no commitment, there, for improvement. As soon as these buildings become totally dilapidated (won't be long) they'll be out of business.
