Maybe we can let one story go by without some amoral bleeding heart trying to justify the behavior of miscreants.

Just because alcohol was involved doesn't mean that the family of the victim doesn't deserve our sympathy for their loss. Personally, I'm going to wait for the final report to come out before making any further judgement. To the family of this young man you have my deepest sympathy.

Three accidents in the past two weeks in which people killed weren't buckled. How hard is it to put the seat belt on?

Its a shame that it happened, and its an even bigger shame if its because of alcohol. Regardness, my sympathies are with the families of all involved.

It takes two seconds. Put on your seatbelt. You may not look "cool" but you'll look cooler than when your face is smeared all over the highway.

I think that we need to find a way to stop people for not wearing seatbelt. Because if we can prevent this may be we can prevent more deaths, and save more lives because thie NEEDS TO STOP!!!!!!

i wonder if this crash occurred near or at where hwy 65 curves to the west near the spring lake park city limit sign. i noticed when driving at night it is difficult to see this curve and the green highway sign in the center median can be confusing since most such signs are posted on the right. i think the lighting could be improved or a warning sign about the curve posted. i have driven there before, but at night it can catch you off guard. i wonder if this played a part in this crash. I think a coupld of signs or better lighting would be helpful/an improvement.

Time for a $1,000 fine for people not wearing a seat belt. It is the law.

p.s. i survived a freak crash or two because I had my seatbeat on. WEAR SEATBELTS! THEY WORK! Air bags rock, too. It was like a soft pillow and saved me a ton of injuries. I testify as an eyewitness/experienced it myself.

I have breathing trouble and get tired of folks smoking in public (anything) and the video of the little toddler being forced to smoke pot is disgusting and I hear the dude doing it to her doesn't even remember. 420 or no 420. I get tired of kids being around secondhand smoke and buzzed/intoxicated bad examples. Being intoxicated can be dangerous/harmful to yourself and/or others. Secondhand smoke is harmful. Why bother. Feed starving kids instead of buying pollution for your body. Try taking life straight. Anybody listening? Worrying about being arrested makes for hyped/paranoid living. Being bombed is not helping the human race advance to the next level. If you have money for smoking, you have money to feed the starving. Why not do it? There are folks without enough food on your street I bet. They might not tell you to your face. If all the money spent on cigarettes/pot went to feed the starving, no one would be hungry.

4/20 the day to end world hunger.

For those who don't know, 420 refers to 4:20pm which is supposed to be the smoke pot time. Why don't we have tea time instead.

the American Lung Association probably has a say about this. Breathe air/oxygen. It's better for your body. Thank you.

It appeared the hit the Spring Lake Park sign, this sign is on the left median just a little south of the Central/85th Avenue intersection. The road does in fact curve to the west, however at the point of their accident the curve is not drastic. I've driven this road hundreds of times and would be very surprised if this was a factor.

I can't remember the last time I've heard of this many fatal accidents in such a short time.

Unbelievably sad.

I will stand to be corrected, but I believe that the "choice" to wear Seat Belts will reduce the chances of death from your choice to drive by approximately 1/2.

As a public service, perhaps media outlets can magnify that the person who died in an accident after they "Chose" to drive, was wearing a Seat Belt at the time of death too?

Free people used to be able to decide for themselves what level of risk they were willing to assume during any activity they "Choose".

If I have only slightly better than a 50/50 chance to survive an accident I had because I "Chose" to drive, then why should the law tell me what restrictions on my liberty are acceptable?

God Bless this child who made a bad "Choice".....it is sad that he will not grow up to learn from his poor "choices".(The ones we all we all make in our youth).
