Meeting didnt happen. Mayor Tynes said that unless 4 members were there, a special council meeting could not take place. Member Mroz didnt bother to show up which threw the meeting. The next council meeting is on the second Tuesday of June. If member Mroz does not show up then, it might force the city into an election for 2 seats for the remaning terms, less than a year. In the meantime, Mayor Tynes is in charge of the city. The city attorney agreeded. However, some citizens said Mayor Tynes has no control over the city, or only has control for a limited period of time if the city is forced into an election over these 2 seats. This is also wrong, and the city attorney pointed out a near by city only had a mayor in charge for 9 months until their election was finally held for open seats to get a quorum. An unschedualed election to fill 2 seats will cost the city over 10k. If member Mroz has any respect at all for the voters, this city and her seat she ran for, it is her responsibilty to show up for the next meeting for the council to approve her resignation. Otherwise, she has just irresponsibly vacated her seat.

Another thing that bothered me was certain excouncil members are disparaging the new council and Mayor for obvious personal reasons and petty retaliation. You were booted out of office for not doing your elected jobs crybabies, get over it and move on already and stop your lying personal attacks Rusty, Missy and Robin, too.

Another thing was some of this same excouncil trash and thier drugged up supporters are now circulating a joke of a petition to have our new Mayor Tynes already removed from office for doing his job and protecting the citizens when the old coucil has obviously refused to. That is how crazy insane these angry drug dealers, drug addicts and slumlords are now about thier loss of power over the city council, the exchief and the citizens.

If this keeps up, I will start my own petition to have councilman Robin/indianblood removed from office for her illegal quorum lunches over the exchiefs raise and city manager job, which are a legitimate complaint, not made up accusations against Mayor Tynes.

You have now been warned and duly put on notice, you excouncil gangsters, slumlords and drugdealers. Enough is enough.

NO petitions will remove anyone! waste of time! IF you know of ANY illegal actions done by any council member,can provide PROOF & YOU did not report it YOU can be held accountable also! So think about this before making any threats!
When One council seat is empty, the council can appoint someone to fill that position (they must submit resumes or a letter of consideration for the spot) then the fillin would have to run in the next election to remain in that seat. Two seats empty YES a special election must be held & tax payers foot the bill. A council member MUST miss 3 regular called monthly meetings before their seat can be considered vacant, remember former mayor Tom Reed would miss two then show up for the third?
PLEASE people go on line & READ the laws, TX state statues. Then you can voice something worth reading cause you'll know the laws!

I am not making basless allegations and threats, they are. The talk about illegal quorums was made by excouncil members including Robin, in an open council meeting. As I said, if their viscious slander and lies continues, Robin will be the next council casualty of their insane tirades.

We even had Mike Jones who ran for a seat again and lost, screaming at the top of his lungs after the cancelled meeting about his constitutional rights to be a crazy person, proving either that too many drugs are bad, or he dont take enough of them. He finally had to be escorted out of the city hall before being arrested. These are the nutters out circulating their anti-mayor petition based on excouncilman Missy's, Rusty's and Robin's B.S. LIES.

I came to.the meeting last night,I had been looking at buying a house off inlet dr,but forget this,I mett this lady last night that seemed fairly nice before the meeting but got to see the REAL person during the meeting,seeing how she committed quite a few crimes last night alone,and not just that she 100% disrespectful,I'm an attorney in ft worth I would love to discuss how I heard hwr encite a riot,and if I'm not mistaken she could also be charged with orginized crime,I'm thinking of taking this awfull experience to the the state ethics board.
And I know either way I will not be moving my wife and children into this 100% trash laden town,and the sad thing is its not so much the town but a few people in it,I even heard conversation of one on city council,talking to an ex council woman about setting up their own city for failure,that was so low class and disgusting,prayers go out to the good folks of pelican bay that are trying so hard to make a decent place to live.while fighting some really bad trashy losers.

It seems the old council has issues with the city being run right that is one of the ladys that was helping things start. You shouldn't judge our city by them this place has its issues and I wouldn't say move here yet but wait a while and check us out again. I'm thinking and hoping this place get better

Once again....don't slander or blame my mother in law without the facts. I PERSONALLY wrote her resignation on the 22nd. five copies were turned into Diane when she got the receipt for her city hall key. She then gave one to Robin when she saw her. she did not throw ANYTHING. She has not been council since the 23rd at 8:30am. If no one knew of this ask your self why not, she did everything right. You cannot force someone to stay on council if they resign in the proper manner. I suggest we all wait for the thursday paper before we start pointing fingers. See what the reporter had to say about the fiasco they called a meeting. And too all you people who hide behind false names....grow a pair and carry your own mud...put a name to your allegations, back your opinion. BUT KEEP MY MOTHER IN LAW OUT OF YOUR VILE MOUTHS, or come talk to me and her son about it, and we will inform you of whats fact vs fiction. Stop hiding if you feel you are right.

And for those of you who can't do math...tht longer than the 4 days posting of a special meeting....SOOOOOOOO...that means Diane and Janet and Robin all knew she was NO LONGER COUNCIL...but the went ahead and posted a special meeting KNOWING there were not the required amount of council members to HAVE the meeting in the first place. Now who's to blame for THAT?????????

And to prevent any accusations that i don't have the right to write her resignation....She asked me to print it out....her words...her signature.....I just typed what she told me to and after she signed it made the number of copies SHE requested. So don't even try to attack me for that.

Has anyone bothered to check into the laws? I spent time today researching Type A General- Law Municipilities & have found that our "beloved" mayor is really not our mayor. As per Texas Legislature Code 22.036 "Installation of Governing Body"

§ 22.036. INSTALLATION OF GOVERNING BODY. On the fifth day after the date of the election, excluding Sundays, or as soon as
possible after that fifth day, the newly elected governing body of the municipality shall meet at the usual meeting place and shall be
installed.

This means that the mayor was to be sworn in at city hall, not on the beach that the city leases from Tarrent County, which means he was not even sworn in in the city limits. It also means since election was 5/12/2012, a Saturday & excluding Sunday per code, he was sworn in four days not the required five by law. Also noone was notified that he was being sworn in, they were told about a meeting that was to take place on 5/17/2012 at city hall, which Sara Napp stood inside the door and informed residents they could not come in that it took two minutes & was over. So any resident who wished to be present was excluded. The only ppl present at this meeting were; Sandy Tolbert, Janet (ex utility clerk), Sara Napp, & Clifford Tynes.

As a homeowner, tax payer & registered voter I personaly have issues with the way things are being handled by this new city government.

Also, can someone explain to me why, Two weeks ago Diane told me personaly in the city office that Janet had already served her last day as utility clerk & people saw her with keys & locking city offices last night after the meeting. If she is no longer employed by the city she needs to return her keys & be treated as a resident of the city, just like everyone else. The information in those offices should be confidential as EVERYONES social security numbers, drivers licenses numbers & some credit card numbers are in those computers since we have to provide that info to get city water.

AS to the accusations that the residents who are outraged by the actions being taken by our city government are all drug users, that is slander & false accusations. I personaly am an Accountant & have been for over 15 years. If we were drug users & slum lords then we would not care what happens in this town. Some of us just want accountability from our city government & officials.

Since the misinformation and sore losers are seemingly never ending, a few facts.

To Fawn- Stop making rediculous excuses for councilmember Sue Mroz. Her resignation has to be approved by council and she is still a member, period. If she shows up at the next regularly schedualed meeting, her resignation will be official and she will avoid the city being charged for a special election. If she wanted to be on the council, you get a copy of Texas local government codes from the office and spend a few days going over the material. What he or she might have told her to do earlier that was unethical or illegal like excouncil bum Missy and her illegal lunch quorums with Robin is irrelevant to whats happening now, and blaming them for her being uninformed about the rules is just a poor excuse for being too lazy to be bothered to read up about a few basic local government laws. If she wants to prove she has an ounce of integrity and respect for the citizens still left, she will be at the next regular meeting. And if she fails to show up, she deserves all the disdain she herself created for the elected office she chose to run for.

So I suppose since you had to file her resignation for her, it was all your idea she run for office in the first place? Shame on YOU and shame on HER for going along with your little prank at the expense of the voters who put her there. YOU couldnt run for office because of your past that disqualified you, so SHE WAS RUNNING IN YOUR PLACE AS YOUR PROXY. Go on, I dare you to deny it now that you publicaly admitted to filling out and filing her resignation YOURSELF.

And as to who I or anyone else is on this forum is who wishes to remain anonymous, thats none of your damn business. I didnt chose to be a public official with a secret agenda once I got elected, like ROBIN and MISSY obviously has.

I can't wait to get out of this city. Sounds to me that thier are some fishy things going around. Get a new mayor. Someone who knows what they are doing...

To Terri- Next time you want to claim false allegations heard by you second or third hand by another angry nutter, maybe you need to attend the next meeting and stop taking thier word for anything. And quoting a code is also pretty stupid when the allegations you heard from others are garbage to start with. All your false allegations you heard about were already denied at the meeting you must have failed to attend. And for all anyone knows, you might really be in the minority who are not drug pushers and slumlords who are genuinely being misled by the drugged up nutters who lost their stranglehold over the city council. Interseting, and a bit telling, how your demand for government accountability dont extend to those who have already proven themselves completly unaccountable to anyone else who elected them the last few years. We can tell which side of the bread your butter was on, and it fell smack down butter side down on the floor after the last election. Bitter much at losing?

We just got a new mayor who is actually acting like a mayor should act for once, considering all the made up circumstances the nutters and slumlords are creating for him since they lost the election, which is the problem. You know it has to be expensive and time consuming for drug dealers to have to pack up at least a dozen bathtub meth and crack labs and move them back to county run crapholes like ghetto Briar is.
