Coach Myers fired as SHS Football Coach..THIS IS SO WRONG!

Coach Myers has been fired as SHS football coach even though he has excelled and helped the team in every way. He took the team further than imagined. When all had given up on SHS, Coach Myers turned it around. Principal Grimes did this ..why? I can tell you. Because Myers cared about the kids and helped. Grimes is the one who needs to be fired. SPEAK UP AND OUT PEOPLE! This is wrong and we all need to support Myers for all he did and can continue to do. Grimes doesnt like kids and is a slimy cheat. Out with GRIMES!

He was a HORRIBLE example to the players at every turn and gave the program a bad name all over the district. No need to go into specifics now that all is said and done. What did he do that was so bad. I only hear or heard good things about him. Enlighten me.

unfortunately we lived it - wish it was just gossip. Sorry my boys won't be there to have a different experience. hope only for a bright future for the program, the kids who are going back next year, the school and best of luck to those now gone. Peace out!

gossip is just that gossip! LISTEN TO THE SHS PARENTS they know the truth not what you hear around town! There are two sides to everything. Winning is not everything, a good role model, morality around our kids and control over the kids goes alot further than how many games you win!

Bring Back Coach Thomas! Last man to win a title and can do it again! He knows how to lead and teach these young men.

so what did myers do? i know the inner city kids have their fair share of struggles and problems groing up in gun toting projects. I thought he really reached out and helped the poorer and the black kids. giving them a real chance at a future.

maybe the reasons he was let go is personal between myers and his employeer and has nothing to do with his coaching abilities. There are two sides to every story, quit guessing, there are many other factors and remember Tennessee is an "at will" state meaning you can be fired from your job for no reason. i know the above to be the real facts. Not everything in this world relates to sports

Coach Thomas won his first year as head coach........that was Donnie Jones' team! Just sayin'.... And, please don't think Coach Thomas set the best 'example'. I had a son that played for him and remember some of the 'locker room' talks that were given to the boys. Don't know what happened to Coach Myers, but was impressed with the record he has and was impressed with him the occasions I spoke to him. He obiously put the correct 'team' on the field. He didn't know who's parents were who's and therefore not as much 'buddy ball' played. I'm sure he stepped on some toes.

Thomas is selling cars right now and doing well. Don't know if he would want to come back.

Although I don't have a child any longer at SHS, I still enjoying attending sporting events and supporting the school anyway I can. I am baffled by Mr. Grime's decision to "relieve" Coach Myers of his duties. It appeared to me that he was getting the team back on track and was truly interested in each player. Why in the world is Coach Myers gone and then the basketball coach is still there after NUMEROUS complaints and lawsuits? In my opinion, Coach Myers was NEVER that controversial..Any ideas or comments? I would like to hear them.

People dont get fired unless the big bosses know what is going on. does anyone realize not anybody can decide they want to be the coach, they have to hold a current license to teach and teach a class around football. i am sure other things took place other than what you saw on the field on friday night. give the head people at the school credit instead of running them down when the real reasons are unknown. Remember this is high school not the NFL we are talking about and protecting a child is the number one priority. Stop speculating and gossiping when you really dont have clue and then really it not anybodys business

Excuse me, SHS Parent...the local newspaper and the news stated Coach Myers was fired by Dr. Grimes. Surely they both would not be wrong about that, and if they were, Dr. Grimes should have come forward and straightened things out...Maybe he could bring his duct tape!!!Ha Ha For those that do not know about the tape, this is his favorite past time, taping kids pants with holes up. Makes me feel kind of good though, that holes in jeans is the BIGGEST problem at SHS.

First off the duct tape thing was handed down to the schools by the school board and the schools were forced to implement the new rule, Dr. Grimes talked to the media because he is the head of SHS and all information regarding the school comes from him. And why is it Dr. Grimes responsibilty to come forward and straighten things outs maybe it was an issue with the coach that had nothing to do with football. I know a lot of you can't see past the football but there are other things that go much deeper when it involves our childs education. If you do not set rules for students you as the teaching staff and principals will be run over by kids doing what they want and feel there are no rules that apply to them. Maybe you are one of those who had that type of problem when you went to school who respects no rules or authority, you sure do sound like it! And you beleive everything the media tells you HAHAHAHA
that is why our country is in the mess it is in today because of the media!

Coach Myers was fired from teaching as he has left Springfield High School with a $12,000 debt. Purchase items without proper paperwork and got caught.

How do you know this information, are you on the inside or is this another rumor that is coming from a gossip source
