NOT chasing after the "small time" contractors leads to the BIG TIME B.S. that we've all had to pay for on Wall Street.....why should they get away with it?? Or, is it that you were on their "payroll" ? What kind of example are they setting for their children, if any?? "It's ok honey, you can cheat..." Now, their families have to deal with the looks, glares, and crappy headshaking by people that know them, because it was more important to cut corners, than to just be honest. The rest of us, have to be honest...we've struggled, our children have gone without....I mean, WTF?? Nobody thinks about the consequences though.
They probably didn't mean for it to go this far, nobody does. The point? Greed is a terrible, terrible, thing....it controls more than you think, more than we know. Once your bitten, there's not a thing in the world that you can do to change it, unless you find the strength within to face the truth, and the music. Unfortunately, they're going to do that, but behind bars.

Prosecution of these two is a very good use of public (our) funds.

They will likely be convicted and forced to pay taxes plus penalties (including cost of prosecution), which is only fair.

Otherwise they are benefitting from things like paved roads, military & police service, trash pick-up, etc. that we law-abiding taxpayers are paying for.

Gosh - does this point up the hypocrisy of the federal government, or what!!!

Ol' Bernie Madoff stole billions of $'s from people, but because they had already paid their taxes on the money invested, the Feds could care less even after one of their own blew the whistle on Bernie's operation 3 times in 10 years.

But, screw the IRS out of a couple bucks up front & watch out! You'll get steam rollered, screwed, blewed & tatooed.

Yeah - Bernie got his, but only because the feds had nothing else to do. These guys got the full weight of the feds on them almost immediately. Why? because the feds weren't getting their cut up front!

To all the citizens who still think this is the land of the free and the home of the brave - boy are you a bunch of misled suckers!!!

Yes We all understand that its important to pay taxes so the feds can spend them on things we don't want or need. However how much does the irs and doj spend going after 2 carpenters with a pickup truck? How much will actually be re-paid? These guys just sound like they are dumb and dumber - but they are hardly bernie madoffs. I suggest that this type of situation doesn't require criminal charges be filed etc. All they should have to do is file estimated returns for the years in question, pay the tax, pay the interest, pay a stiff penalty. We don't need a federal prosecutor and a federal judge to deal with this type of low level stuff. They should be working on handling big time crooks and drug dealers etc.

They are not the first nor will be the last to try to cheat the goverment..It would be even better if they caught the big time cheaters like drug dealers call girls, people who collect wellfare and work under the table and some in our own goverment..They are all over the place people.

I look at it this way. I need my money more than the govt'. They get their cut of what I feel is fair after me and my family are provided for. I always end up paying in. But to not pay in at all is scummy.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Virgo

Unfortunately, this looks like being another difficult day, and, as Mars turns retrograde, certain people are quick to take offence or raise their voices. Make sure you aren't adding to the tension by doing or saying something that's provocative or even downright insulting. If you get involved in a shouting match it will be difficult to stop and you could say some nasty things in the heat of the moment.
