"Park could see tenant"
The William Stanley Business Park had darn well better see a tenant; and more than just one!
PEDA, it's time to take your thumb out and show some results.

This is typical of unknowing people...this is exactly what Pittsfield has been waiting for...the work going into the W. Stanley Bus. Park is paying off and is a testament to the recent accomplishments. I read the Gazette article and now know the work and efforts invoved in putting this project together. As predicted in the article there would be good news coming, and it did..also more to come. We should support these efforts and not try to scare the potential businesses away with all the negative discourse.

Finally, a day with a few pieces of good positive news on Pittsfield. First about the speedy progress and early opening of the Cinema Center, and now some potentially groundbreaking news on the progress of the William Stanley Business Park. This is the type of project that we should (and should have) been using the GE fund for, so we'll see if we elect to use any of whats' left for it.

Negative discourse? How about truth. The truth is there is no business there, and this one coming is contingent upon federal aid. I've never heard of Cornerstone Telephone Company, and to say they have hopes of taking over the business of well established companies such as Time Warner and Verizon is a bit of a stretch in hope. This is a shot in the dark, and we'll see if the Federal Govt. goes for it. Hopefully, but we'll have to see.

lol..One ringy dingy, are they another LLC that will fail or survive on Federal Dollars. Everyone vote Bianchi if you have a brain, at least if he doesn't deliver, he'll know when to get out, and Dan will tell you the truth. Ruberto said he isn't in it for the money, then give it to charity? Ruberto said something about his brother- in- law being homeless, look around, what have you done about homeless, other than send the poor addicts and homeless to BMC on our dime?

There is no politician more greedy than ruberto. He supposedly could be working in the private sector anywhere he wants. This is according to him, of course. The fact is that he came to Pittsfield in the early 2000's looking for a job. He had burnt all his bridges in the private sector, so he decided to rip us off the same way he did the people who worked at a plastics company in Texas called Rexene. He took the money from the liquidation of assets from that company, along with a couple others, and came here looking for employment using his family name. Hefooled enough people th second time he ran to get elected, and continues to buffalo people even now. I hope the people here have learned their lesson, and willvote for Dan Bianchi for Mayor and Joe Nichols for Ward 7,where the current embarrassment of an incumbent is running again.

Jim, just out of curiosity, what was your opinion of him when he ran the first time in 2001 and won the first time in 2003, and did you vote for him in any of the past elections? And how can you guarantee to us that if Bianchi wins that you will be complaining about him in the same vein in 2 years?

I see this as a very risky venture. I do not think anyone should get excited about this project happening because upfront it looks bad to me.$3.7 million in stimulus funds and another $2 million in additional financing totals $5.7 million for a $5 million dollar project? No funds of their own to be spent on this project from a company that will susposedly gross $38 million this year? I dont see it happening.

Dave is right on...this is a pure start-up looking for funding. This is nothing to hang anybody's hat on. Work Shop Live...dead, EV..dead. Bio-diesel plant...dead. I say build a Moto/Snow Cross track at that site...if you build it, they will come!

This is almost as unblievable timing, as when the Berkshire Museum had there handout, got there money and then found millions in an Art collection they would sell.

I have to wonder when I read all the frustration in these posts. The fact of the matter is that Pittsfield is a failing city no matter how much money the city puts into it pretending that it is all about Art and Culture and Jobs. Ha ha, where are the jobs? I can't find one! I was laid-off in Jan. 2009 from my nearly 7 yr. employer and have been looking for work, going to interviews at places such as Wal-Mart, which is not exactly what I would like to be doing, but work is work, and hey, they didn't even hire me. I have an excellent resume so why can't I find a job? Anyhow, there is so much crime in pittsfield it's not even funny! Too many drug dealers, gang bangers and hey, even teenage (or under teen) kids that cause problems, destruction of property, etc. and no one does anything about it! Who wants to come here? And better yet, why don't the decent people of pittsfield fight a little harder to set thing right? This includes Pittsfield Police Department who often gets paid-off by certain people to "stay out of jail" or to "not say a word" about certain crimes that are committed. My neighbor walked down my street with gun in hand after his supposed girlfriend's boyfriend showed up at his door. Well of course SHE told the guy to go and he started to leave, an unexpected surprise for this guy, then as I said, my neighbor walked past my home do the street toward the other guy (the boyfriend of the woman) with a gun in his hand. The cops showed up and my neighbor, as always paid-off the cops. So you tell me, corruption in pittsfield or not? I think so!

Pittsfield Police do not always protect! They can be paid-off if you have the money to shut them up and hey, yeah, most of them dip into the drugs that they raid! I know for fact of certain officers that are daily drug users. I have to laugh because the Mayor or whomever, as long as they are not corrupt either, should investigate the PPD. Drug tests are easily passable and everyone knows that! If you do a surprise tests on them (PPD) then they have NO time to get the drugs out of their system. I know which cops are paid off and I know of some cops who use drugs. Even the D.A.R.E. officers (or past D.A.R.E. officers) use drugs. I've been to their homes and have seen the drug use with my own eyes. I've seen the pay offs with my own eyes as well. Corruption, Corruption, Corruption! What's next?
